유아의 자기조절력과 스마트폰 과의존과의 관계에서 어머니 양육태도의 매개효과

국문 초록

본 연구의 주 목적은 유아의 자기조절력과 스마트폰 과의존과의 관계에서 어머니 양육태도의 매개효과를 살펴보는 것이었다. 이를 위해 광역시 A와 B시에 소재하고 있는 유치원 과 어린이집에 재원중인 만 3~5세 430명의 유아와 이들의 어머니를 대상으로 자료를 수집하였다. 수집된 자료는 상관분석과 회귀분석 및 Hayes(2013)의 PROCESS Macro를 사용하여 분석하였다. 연구의 주요 결과를 다음과 같다. 유아의 자기조절력, 스마트폰 과의존, 어머니 양육태도 간 상관관계를 살펴본 결과로첫째, 유아의 자기조절력과 스마트폰 과의존 간 상관관계를 살펴본 결과 부적상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 유아의 스마트폰 과의존과 어머니 양육태도 간의 관계를 살펴본 결과 어머니 양육태도가 무엇이냐에 따라 상관의 크기와 방향에서 뚜렷한 차이가 나타났다. 양육태도가 애정적이거나, 자율적일수록 유아의 스마트폰 과의존적 성향은 낮았으며, 양육태도가 거부적일수록 유아의 스마트폰 과의존적 성향 또한 높았다. 한편, 통제적 양육태도와 스마트폰 과의존 간에는 유의미한 관계가 발견되지 않았다. 셋째, 유아의 자기조절력과 어머니 양육태도 간 상관관계를 살펴본 결과 어머니 양육태도가 무엇이냐에 따라 상관의 크기와 방향에서 차이가 나타났다. 유아의 자기조절력과 스마트폰 과의존과의 관계에서 어머니 양육태도의 매개효과를 살펴본 결과로 , 거부적 양육태도와 자율적 양육태도가 유아의 자기조절력과 스마트폰 과의존과의 관계에서 매개 효과를 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 스마트폰을 과하게 사용하는 유아들의 행동을 자기조절력을 통해 개선하고자 하는 노력이 별다른 효과를 얻지 못할 경우 어머니의 양육태도 개선을 시도해 볼 수 있음을 시사한다. 본 연구는 유아의 자기조절력, 스마트폰 과의존, 어머니 양육태도 간의 상관관계 및 유아의 자기조절력과 스마트폰 과의존과의 관계에서 어머니 양육태도의 매개효과를 밝혔다는 데 그 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating effect of mothers' parenting attitudes on the relationship between early children's self control and over dependence on smartphone. To this end, the following study questions were established. For this study, questionnaires measuring the early children's self control, over dependence on smartphone, and mothers' parenting attitudes were completed by 430 mothers of three, four, and five-year-olds in Metropolitan city A and B city. Collected data were analyzed using the IBM SPSS (ver. 24) program and Hayes' PROCESS Macro. The results of this study were as follows: First, the total score of early children's self control and over dependence on smartphone is r=-.37. It had a negative correlation. Second, based on early children's over dependence on smartphone, the mother's rejective parenting attitudes with a static correlation of r=.32, autonomous parenting attitudes with a negative correlation of r=.-25, affectionate parenting attitudes with a negative correlation of r=.-22. On the other hand, On the other hand, it was found that there was little relationship between the mother's controlled parenting attitude and children's over dependence on smartphone(r=.11). Third, early children's self control tended to be high when the mother's parenting attitude was affectionate (r=.39), or autonomous(r=.41). However, when the mother's parenting attitude is particularly rejected, early children's self control may be greatly degraded (r=-.45). According to the research model, a series of regression analysis was performed by setting the early children's self control(X) as an independent variable, and the early children's over dependence on smartphone(Y) as a dependent variable and the mother's parenting attitude(M) as a parameter. As a result, it could be seen that the mother's rejective parenting attitude and autonomous parenting attitude had a mediating effect in the relationship between the early children's self control and over dependence on smartphone. And as a result of regression analysis, the indirect effect is significant for rejective parenting attitude and the autonomous parenting attitude. This study is meaningful in that it revealed the mediating effect of mothers' parenting attitudes in the relationship between early children's self control, early children's over dependence on smartphone. In addition, the study is meaningful in that not only personal variables of early children, but also environmental variables were integrally considered in identifying the path through which early children's become overdependent on smartphones.
