국문 초록

본고는 김수영 시의 리듬을 규명하기 위한 예비 작업으로서 그의 리듬 의식에 대한연구이다. 특히, ‘속도’가 김수영 시의 리듬 의식 및 시적 사유의 현대성을 이해하는주요 관문임을 규명하고자 한다. 김수영 시에서 ‘속도’는 크게 세 가지 층위를 띤다. 첫째, ‘속도’는 김수영이 직시한 당대 현실의 주요 특질이다. 그것은 1950-60년대 한국 사회의 특수성을 표상한다. 둘째, ‘속도’는 김수영의 시적 사유의 에너지와 방향을 현시한다. 그것은 ‘자유’와 ‘비애’라는 두 개의 벡터가 어떻게 공존할 수 있는지를 설명한다. 셋째, ‘속도’는 김수영의 시적 발화의 미적 가치의 주요 지표이다. 일반적으로 시행의 반복과 분절은 현실과 사유의 속도를 가속하거나 감속한다. 이러한 속도의 변화가 김수영 시의 리듬의 고유한 결(texture)과 흐름(stream)을 직조하는 것이다. 이를 해명하기 위해, 2장에서는 ‘문명의 속도’에 대한 김수영의 인식과 태도를 김기림의 그것과 비교하여 고찰한다. 3장에서는 ‘속도’에 내재한 고유한 시간관을 고찰하고 그것이 ‘카이로스의 시간’와 맞닿아 있음을 규명한다. 4장에서는 시행의 길이에 따른 템포의 차이가 시적 발화의 ‘속도’를 가늠하는 주요 지표임을 확인한다. 세계와 자아에 대한 비판 의식이 일상적 언어와 만나 빼어난 미적 성취를 이루고 있다는 점에서 김수영의 시가 현대시의 발전에 끼친 공헌은 적지 않다. 이런 맥락에서 그가 자유시와 산문시에서 구현하려던 ‘속도’는 한국 현대시의 새로운 원형을 분기한다고 말할 수 있다.

영문 초록

This paper is a study on the rhythm consciousness in Kim Soo-young’s poetry, as a preliminary work to identify the rhythm of his poetry. In particular, it is intended to clarify that ‘speed’ is the main gateway to understanding the modernity of rhythm consciousness in his poetry. To put it simply, ‘speed’ in his poetry appears in three major layers. First, ‘speed’ is the main characteristic of the reality of the time that represents the uniqueness of Korean society in the 1950s and 1960s. Second, ‘speed’ reveals the energy and direction of his poetic thought. It explains how the two vectors of ‘freedom’ and ‘sorrow’ can coexist. Third, ‘speed’ is a major indicator of the aesthetic value of his poetic speech. In general the repetition and segmentation of lines in poetry accelerates or decelerates the speed of reality and thoughts. This change in speed is what weaves the unique texture and stream of the rhythm of his poetry. To clarify this, in chapter 2, Kim Soo-young’s perception and attitude toward ‘the speed of civilization’ will be compared with that of Kim Ki-rim. In chapter 3, I will examine the unique view of time inherent in ‘speed’ and clarify that it is in contact with ‘Time of Kairos’. In chapter 4, I will confirm that the difference in tempo according to the length of the execution is the main index to measure the ‘speed’ of poetic speech. The contribution of his poetry to the development of modern poetry is not small in that the critical consciousness of the world and the self is expressed in everyday language and achieves an outstanding aesthetic achievement. In this context, it can be said that the ‘speed’ he tried to realize in free verse and prose poetry diverges the new archetype of modern Korean poetry.
