국문 초록

본고에서는 드라마 미스터 션샤인의 역사적 사실과 한국인 일상을 통한 학습자의공감 증진이라는 화두로 연구를 진행했다. 본 연구에서는 한국 개화기를 배경으로 펼쳐지는 두 남녀의 사랑 이야기를 한국인들이 일상 속에서 접하는 장소인 익선동과 연관시키는 교수·학습 방안을 제시했다. 일상과 역사를 연결하는 방안에 대한 이론적 토대를 근 70년 이상 진행되었던 ‘Big C와 Little c’에 대한 논의에서 찾았다. 한국 문화 교육에서 이 두 영역이 함께 논의되어야 하는 당위성을 점검하고, 그 구체적인 영역을 제시했다. 한국 문화 교육을 통한 학습자의 개인 성장을 목표로 스턴의 문화 교육 목표에 따라 인지적 영역, 정의적 영역, 행위적 영역으로 나누었다. 인지적 영역을 Big C와 Little c로 나누고 Big C에 역사를 Little c에 일상에서 체험하는 문화를 배치했다. 학습자에게 한국 문화 교육이 의미 있는 것이 되게 하기 위해 학습자의 개인적 연관을 고려하여 정의적 영역에 공감과 체험 활동을 배치했다.

영문 초록

In this article, a study was conducted on the topic of promoting learners’ empathy through historical facts and Korean daily life in the drama Mr. Sunshine. In this study, a teaching and learning method was proposed to connect the love story of a man and a woman set in the flowering period of Korea to Iksun-dong, a place that Koreans encounter in their daily lives. The theoretical foundation for how to connect daily life and history was found in the discussion of ‘Big C and Little c’, which has been going on for more than 70 years. The legitimacy of these two areas to be discussed together in Korean cultural education was examined and the specific areas were presented. With the goal of personal growth of learners through Korean cultural education, the areas of cultural education was divided into cognitive, definitional, and behavioral areas according to Stern’s classification. The cognitive domain was divided into Big C and Little c, and history was placed in Big C and everyday culture in Little c. To make Korean culture education meaningful to learners, empathy and experiential activities were placed in the definitional domain, considering learners’ personal connections.
