국문 초록

TV드라마《베토벤 바이러스》는 클래식 연주라는 꿈을 향해 도전하는 사람들을 그린 드라마로, 꿈의 현실화라는 결과보다는 등장인물들의 ‘성장 과정’에 주목하여 이를 상징적으로 시각화한 작품이다. 즉, 이 드라마는 결핍․불완전․미숙이 충족․완전․성숙으로 향하는 성장 스토리를 기반으로, 등장인물들이 성장하는 ‘과정’을 강조하여 ‘시각적 이미지’로 드라마의 관념을 전달한다. 사람과 제대로 소통하지 못하는 미숙한 강마에를 비롯해서 각자 현실과 운명의 틀에 갇힌 등장인물들과 힘겨운 현실 속에서 만난 꿈, 그리고 현실과 꿈의 경계 속에서 자신의 길을 찾는 과정을 드라마는 인상적인 ‘시각적 이미지’로 그려낸다. 따라서 ‘어둠’과 ‘틀’에 갇힌 이미지에서 꿈을 향한 밝은 ‘빛’의 이미지로, 그러한 꿈을 향해 도전하는 과정은 문과 복도․터널 등 ‘경계’와 ‘통로’ 이미지로 시각화한다. 이러한 시각적 이미지를 TV드라마는 특히 어둠과 밝음의 역동적인 대비를 통해 그리면서, 인생의 과정을 이야기한다. 도전과 실패를 반복하며 불확실한 미래를 향해 거친 현실을 살아가야하는 것이 인생이듯이, 드라마는 ‘과정’ 이미지를 강조하여 여전히 해결되지 않은 문제들과 등장인물들의 불확실한 미래로 결말을 열어놓고 시청자와의 대화를 시도한다.

영문 초록

TV drama 《Beethoven Virus》 is a drama, that amateur classical musicians repeatedly make challenges and failures for the realization of their dream. This drama don't end in the success of the characters, it keeps the result open, showing hard actuality and uncertain future. This drama focuses on spiritual growth of characters, shown in the process of dream realization. And it draws the process of characters's growth with impressive visual images. With visual images, this drama pictures characters, who are placed under frame of realities and fate of life, are in darkness, including the immature maestro Kang, who do not communicate with other people, and dream(light), with which they meet in the actual like darkness, and process, that they find the way at the boundary between daily and dream. So this drama visualizes these characteristics through images, they are imprisoned in darkness and the frame, images of bright light, they find the dream, and visualizes challenges process for their dream through boundary images like door・hallway・tunnel, etc. This TV drama shows process of life, drawing visual images through dynamic contrast of darkness and brightness. Life is, there are repetitions of challenges and failures, and hard realities, uncertain future, so this drama emphasizes process images, remains unsettled, unsolved problems and uncertain future of characters, and tries to have a conversations with TV viewers.
