한국 사회의 다문화주의와 그를 둘러싼 환상

국문 초록

다문화주의는 인종, 계급, 성별, 언어, 문화, 성적 취향, 신체적 장애 등 문화적 다양성에 대하여 개인과 집단이 어떻게 다르게 반응하며, 이에 작용하는 사회․정치․경제적 이해관계는 어떠한가를 분석한다. 서구사회든 우리사회든 간에 어떤 차이에 의해 발생하는 갈등양상을 해소하려는 것이 다문화주의의 과제이다. 우리 사회는 서구사회에 비해 외국인 이주민의 비율은 낮지만, 다문화사회에 대한 대응경험이 적고 민주주의의 역사도 짧기 때문에 갑작스런 외국인의 증가는 심각한 문제를 유발할 수도 있어 이에 대한 대비가 시급히 요청된다. 특히 단일민족국가라는 혈통 중심의 국가체제를 유지하려고 하고 또 그를 정치행위의 주요한 수단으로 삼아온 우리의 경우, 다문화주의에 대한 접근은 매우 제한적일 수밖에 없기 때문이다. 따라서 이 글에서는 우리 사회를 ‘다문화화 되어 가는 사회’로 규정하고, 다문화주의를 둘러싼 여러 환상들을 비판적으로 검토하였다. 하종오의 『입국자들』을 통해서는 민족에 대한 환상을, 전성태의 「늑대」를 통해서는 다문화주의 자체의 환상을, 박찬순의 「가리봉 양꼬치」를 통해서는 민족적 정체성이 갖는 환상을 다루었다. 그리고 이시영의 시집 『우리의 죽은 자들을 위해』를 통해서는 다문화주의가 전제하고 지향해 나가야 할 점들을 짚어보았다. 결국 존재들 간 하나의 관계 맺음의 방식이라 할 문화에서 차이에 대한 존중을 실제의 인간에 대한 존중과 조화시키며, 공존의 습성을 길러야 한다고 결론지었다.

영문 초록

Multiculturalism analyzing race, class, gender, language, culture, sexual orientation, physical disability, cultural diversity and about how individuals and groups respond differently, and that this society works. Challenges of Multiculturalism in the conflict caused by the difference in pattern is to solve. In our society compared to Western society, the lower the percentage of foreign immigrants. Responding to a multicultural society, but less experienced short history of democracy, because a sudden increase in foreigners can lead to serious problems. Therefore, it makes preparation for this. Of a single nation state, especially the blood center to maintain the state system and also in his primary means of political action. In our case, the approach to multiculturalism is not bound to be very limited. So many fantastic surrounding multiculturalism, this essay critically examined. This essay studied the fantsy toward nation from Ha Jong-Ho's 『Immigrants』, fantsy toward Multi-Culturalism unto oneself from Jeon Sung-Tae's 「Wolves」, fantsy toward national identity from Park Chan-Sun's 「Galibong Yangkkochi」. And the poems Lee Si-Young 『For Our Dead』, through the premise that multiculturalism has identified points, breaking new ground to get out. Establishing a relationship exists between the end of a way to call for respect for cultural differences in respect for human beings in harmony with the actual sikimyeo, cultivate the habit of co-concluded. Eventually the relationship between culture, there is a way of closing. Therefore, respect for differences with respect to actual human beings, it is important to balance.
