국문 초록

이 연구에서는 학생들의 토론 능력을 향상시키기 위해 다양한 토론 방식을 적용하여 개발한 <독서와 토론> 수업 모형을 통해 토론에 대한 학생들의 자기 효능감이 향상함을 보였다. 학생들의 토론 능력을 향상시키기 위해 적용한 토론 방식은 주제토론, 역할토론, 피라미드토론, 의회토론이었다. 토론 효능감에 대한 t검정 결과, p<.01 수준에서 유의미하게 효능감이 상승한 것으로 나타났으며, 토론 방식별로는 “역할토론(1.57)>주제토론(1.49)>피라미드토론(1.31)>의회토론(1.04)” 순서로 점수 상승 정도가 컸다. 또한, 토론 능력 구성 요소별로는 “상대입장고려(1.79)=토론예절(1.79)>질문이해력(1.60)>발표구성력(1.53)>협동토론(1.47)>의견조정(1.41)>설명비중(1.35)>주장근거구별(1.31)>달리설명(1.18)>자기객관화(1.18)>토론종합(.90)>시간엄수(.76)” 순서로 점수 상승 정도가 컸다.

영문 초록

This study shows that the lesson model 'Reading and Debate', which has been developed through applications of four types of debates and for improving college students' debate competence. The debate types used for this study are Theme-oriented, Role-oriented, Pyramid, and Parliamentary Debates. The result of T-test supports at the level of P<.01 that the students' debate competence has been improved. In order of significance, the Role-oriented Debate(1.57), Theme-oriented Debate(1.49), Pyramid Debate(1.31), and Parliamentary Debate(1.04) significantly affect the students' debate competence. In addition, with regard to components of debate competence, Deliberation of Opponents' Perspectives(1.79), Debate Etiquette(1.79), Question Comprehension(1.60), Speech in Proper Debate Procedures(1.53), Well-Differentiated Opinions from Team members'(1.47), Negotiation(1.41), Organized Explanation(1.35), Distinction Between Facts and Opinions(1.35), Audience-oriented Speech(1.18), Perspective-Taking of the Third Party(Objectification(1.18), Self-Assessment of Debate Competence(.90), and Punctuality(.76) are considered the most important elements for debate competence.
