국문 초록

현재 한국에 있는 대학에서 학업을 수행하기 위한 목적으로 유학 및 한국어 연수 등을 통해 학문 목적의 한국어 교육을 수행하고 있는 학생들이 꾸준히 증가하고 있는 실정이다. 이러한 면에서 단순히 의사소통 과정으로서의 한국어 학습과 학문을 목적으로 하는 한국어 읽기 학습은 많은 차이가 있을 것이라 판단된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 학문 목적 한국어 학습자들의 입장에서 읽기의 기능에 대해 알아보고 현재 한국어 교육에서 사용되는 교재 내에 구성되어 있는 수업 과정별 읽기 학습 내용을 살펴보았다. 학문 목적의 한국어 학습을 토대로 다양한 전공 분양의 학문을 수행하기 위해서는 정보를 읽고 이해하는 것이 기본이 되어야 한다. 그러나 대부분의 한국어 교육 기관에서는 통합 교재를 기본으로 하여 말하기, 듣기, 읽기, 쓰기를 한꺼번에 교수·학습하고 있는 실정이기에 기능이나 전략 중심의 읽기 교육에 큰 비중을 두지 못하고 있을 것이라 판단된다. 따라서 본고에서는 앞으로 학문을 목적의 한국어 학습자들이 대학 수학 능력을 원활하게 수행하기 위해서는 다양한 읽기 교수·학습 방안이 연구되어야 할 것이라는 관점에서 읽기 교수요목에 관한 연구를 진행하고자 하였다. 이러한 논제를 토대로 현재 통합 교육에서 다루고 있는 중급 교재에서 읽기 부분을 중심으로 학습 진행 내용을 분석해 보았다. 이를 통해 읽기 학습에서 사용할 교수요목을 구성해 보고 활용 가능성을 살펴보고자 하였다. 이러한 연구를 토대로 한국어 교사와 학문 목적의 한국어 학습자들을 대상으로 읽기 교수·학습에 관한 요구 조사를 실시하고, 학문 목적 학습자들에게 효율적인 읽기 수업이 이루어질 수 있도록 교수요목 등의 개발 방안을 모색해야 할 필요가 있다.
