국문 초록

연구목적 본 연구의 목적은 동기 개념과의 차이를 중심으로 흥미 개념의 도덕교육적 의미를 밝히는 데있다. 연구방법 흥미와 동기에 관한 기존의 연구를 참조하여, 양자의 의미를 구분하는 것을 시작으로 도덕교육에서 흥미가 어떤 의미를 지니고 있는가를 탐색하는 데 주안점을 둔다. 특히 이 과정에서 흥미를 도덕교육의목적에 올려두어야 한다고 주장하는 헤르바르트의 견해에 주목한다. 연구결과 동기와 흥미는 행동의 설명이라는 측면에서 공통되지만, 전자는 타율이라는 의미를 가지는 데비하여 후자는 자율이라는 의미를 갖는다. 구체적으로 말하여 흥미는 마음이 내리는 명령이 마치 ‘자연의결과’인 것처럼 나타나는 사태를 가리키며, 이 점에서 그것은 도덕성을 심리적 측면에서 규정하는 용어로이해된다. 결론 흥미는 단순히 교육의 과정에서 요구되는 정서적 보조물이라는 의미를 넘어서는 행동의 도덕적원인으로 해석될 수 있다. 학교에서 이루어지는 도덕교육은 바로 이러한 흥미의 형성을 겨냥하는 방향으로자신의 과제를 모색할 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to reveal the meaning of interesse (interest) in moral education,focusing on the difference from the concept of motivation. Methods: With reference to existing research, the focus is on exploring the meaning of interest inmoral education, starting by distinguishing the meaning of both. In particular, attention is paid toHerbart s view, which insists that interest should be placed on the purpose of moral education. Results: Motivation and interest are common in terms of explanation of behavior, whereas the formerhas the meaning of heteronomy, while the latter has the meaning of autonomy. Specifically, interestrefers to a situation in which the mind s command appears as if it were a ‘result of nature’, andin this respect it is understood as a term that defines morality in the psychological aspect. Conclusion: The concept of interest can be interpreted as the moral cause of action beyond simplybeing an emotional aid required in the process of education. Moral education in schools needs tofind its own tasks in the direction that aims at the formation of this interest.
