文末におけるレバ条件節の構文的特徴

국문 초록

本稿では、主節なしで、独立的に文末で使われるレバ条件節の構文的特徴について考察する。レバ条件節の上接語の様相を観察するため、レバの形式を肯定形と否定形に分けて、その構文的特徴を記述することを目的とする。上接動詞は、肯定形、否定形いずれも他動詞の場合が多かった。自動詞である場合は、否定形より肯定形の方が多く、｢存在動詞＋レバ｣構造になっているのが顕著である。また、本動詞以外の場合では、肯定形の場合は｢ている｣｢ことができる｣｢になる｣という｢状態性｣を表す形式との共起がよく見られる。その反面、否定形の場合は、｢ていく｣｢てしまう｣｢ておく｣｢使役｣｢にする/ようにする｣など｢意志的にVする｣形式で現れやすいことが分かる。この傾向は文末の｢ナキャ｣においても共通する。このように、｢レバ。｣｢ナケレバ。｣｢ナキャ。｣へ｢義務｣を表す一語化されている形式であるほど、｢意志性｣を表す上接動詞を伴いやすい傾向があることが分かる。つまり、｢義務｣機能の縮約․圧縮を促す形式の成立には、その上接動詞の文法要素に制約があると言える。

영문 초록

The present article examines the constructional properties of the insubordinational uses of reba-conditional clauses. In order to reveal the characteristics of the base verb in reba-conditional clauses, I divide the reba-forms into positive and negative forms and describe their constructional properties. The most frequently attested type of base verb is transitive verbs both in the positive-form and the negative-form cases. When a base verb is an intransitive verb, it is most frequently an existential verb, and its negative form is used more frequently than its positive form. Also, in the cases of non-main verbs, a positive form frequently co-occurs with a “state” -denoting form such as teiru, kotogadekiru, and ninaru. On the other hand, a negative form frequently co-occurs with a volitional form such as teiku, teshimau, teoku, causative forms, and nisuru/yoonisuru. These tendencies are also true of the sentence-final nakya. In this way, deontic forms that have established a one-word-sentential form such as reba, nakereba, and nakya tend to attach to a volitional base verb. That is, the establishment of forms that condense the “deontic” functions is constrained by grammatical properties of base verbs.
