통계적 접근을 통한 보험사 핵심 업무 사례 연구

국문 초록

본 논문의 목적은 기업 특히 보험사의 생산성 향상을 위해 항시 수행되고 있는 핵심 업무들 중 통계학적으로 접근할 수 있는 주요 업무를 중심으로 설문조사 및 통계적 추론 등을 통해 기업의 궁극적 가치인 수익성을 제고하는 데 기여할 수 있는 핵심과제에 대한 실제 사례를 통해 많은 기업이 활용할 수 있도록 하는 것이다. 보험사의 업무는 크게 상품개발, 영업 및 계약/고객관리, 자산운영으로 나눌 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 영업 및 계약/고객관리 분야 등을 실제 프로젝트 중심으로 기술하였다. 보유한 고객의 지속적인 거래 유지를 위해 로지스틱 회귀모형을 활용한 스코어모델을 구축하였고, 영업현장에서의 우수 관리자 선별을 위해 적성검사 항목개발 및 선별모델을 개발하였다. 또한 로지스틱 회귀모형을 이용하여 우수 설계사의 영입을 위한 효율적인 접근방식을 소개하였다. 또한 마케팅을 수행하기 위한 기본적인 정보항목으로 고객의 평생가치(life time value: LTV)를 산출하였고, 지역별로 차별화 되어있는 특성을 영업활동에 활용하기 위한 시장성분석을 실시하였다. 이 결과를 바탕으로 기업이 핵심과제를 해결하는 과정에서 통계학이 제공할 수 있는 과학적 접근 방법을 통해 좀 더 객관적이고 합리적으로 문제를 해결해 나갈 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The object of this study is to provide insight in promoting the ultimate aim of profitability by presenting actual cases of core tasks that were performed by insurance companies for the purpose of improvement in productivity. These cases are able to contribute in enhancing profitability as they are tasks that can be viewed from a statistical viewpoint that deal with surveys and statistical inferences. The business of an insurance company can be largely divided into three sections: product development, sales and contract/ customer management, and asset management. This study deals mostly with projects of sales and contract/customer management, actual cases experienced over the past ten years. It constructs a score model utilizing logistic regression model concerning how to maintain deals with retained customers. It also introduces a efficient approach method utilizing logistic regression model in how to select excellent managers and how to recruit consultants. Lastly, it presents a fundamental yet never before performed project, a project that is concerned with the purpose of marketing such as LTV (life time value) and market evaluation. Based on the findings of this study, the author hopes that the process of fulfilling core tasks of companies will become more objective and rational through the scientific approach methods that statistics can provide.
