보육교사의 다문화 문화역량에 영향을 미치는 요인 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 보육교사의 문화적 역량 수준을 실증적으로 분석하고 문화 역량에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 탐색하였다. 연구방법으로는 전남 광주 지역의 어린이집에서 근무하고 있는 보육교사를 대상으로 다문화신념, 다문화수용성, 체험 및 경험적 학습, 문화 역량 정도를 파악하고 문화역량에 영향을 미치는 요인을 위계적 회귀분석을 통하여 분석하였다. 그 결과 선택된 모형의 설명력은 46%로 보육경력이 낮을수록, 연령은 높을수록, 다문화 이해, 지역사회ㆍ기관 및 부모파트너십에 대한 신념, 다문화 수용성의 하위요인인 단일성이 높을수록 문화역량이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 다문화가정 유아들의 복지욕구를 채워주는 발판으로 보육교사의 문화적 역량 증진과 교육개발에 필요한 기초자료를 제시한 것으로 그 의미를 찾을 수 있겠다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine factors affecting the cultural capability of childcare teacher. The subjects were childcare teachers in the regions of Gwang-ju and Junranam-do province, who included 300 teachers and a convenience survey was conducted to gather data. Research questions are as follows: First, does the cultural capability vary depending on socio-demographic factors? Second, does the cultural capability vary depending on educational experience? Third, does the cultural capability vary depending on belief in multiculture? Fourth, does the cultural capability vary depending on acceptability of multiculture? The major findings of the study were that the variables such as childcare career, age, understanding of multiculture, the sensitiveness of multiculture, local society- institution-parent partnership, and cultural acceptability of unicity were statistical significance factors. By examining childcare teacher’s cultural capability and factors affecting the cultural capability, this study might be the foundation for development of a teaching program for multicultural education for childcare teachers.
