국문 초록

본 연구에서는 청소년을 대상으로 이들의 심리적 안녕감이 부모 및 교사의 심리적 환경과 학교 적응 간의 관계를 매개하는지, 그리고 학교 적응에 부모 및 교사의 심리적 환경과 심리적 안녕감이 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 탐색하였다. 이를 위해 서울 지역 7개 중학교의 재학생 총 802명을 분석 대상으로 선정하였다. 본 연구 결과, 청소년의 심리적 안녕감은 부모 및 교사의 심리적 환경이 학교 적응에 미치는 영향을 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 교사의 심리적 환경은 학교적응에 직접적으로 영향을 미쳤으며, 청소년의 심리적 안녕감을 거쳐 학교적응에 간접적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 부모와 교사가 제공하는 심리적 환경이 학생들의 심리적 안녕감 증진은 물론 이들의 원만한 학교적응을 도모하는데 영향을 주는 것으로 나타난 본 연구 결과를 토대로 볼 때, 가정과 학교에서는 학생들에게 보다 긍정적인 심리적 환경을 조성해주기 위해 세심한 노력을 기울일 필요가 있다. 이러한 본 연구 결과는 청소년의 학교적응을 향상시키기 위한 구체적인 방안을 강구하는데, 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

영문 초록

This study was to examine the direct and indirect influences of parents and teachers psychological environments on students school adjustment via their psychological well-being in Korean junior-high schools. The participants were 802 junior-high school students (i.e., 422 males, 376 females, and 2 unidentified) in Seoul, Korea. Their average age was 13.83 years. Measures of parents psychological environment, teachers psychological environment, students psychological well-being, and school adjustment were administered. Students psychological well-being mediated between teachers psychological environment and students school adjustment. The structural equation model for the participants supported that parents psychological environment and teachers psychological environment had positive indirect effects on students school adjustment via their psychological well-being. Moreover, teachers psychological environment had a positive direct effect on students school adjustment. Therefore, to improve students psychological well-being and school adjustment, parents and teachers should provide positive psychological environments to students. Results are discussed in terms of their implications in school settings.
