한류가 한국 가공식품 수출에 미치는 영향 분석

국문 초록

1990년대 후반부터 지금에 이르기까지 한류가 확산되면서, 이제는 한류 자체에 대한 현상학적 연구 외에도 한류의 경제적 효과에 대한 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 선행연구에 따르면 한류의 확산은 한국의 일반상품 수출에도 긍정적인 영향을 주고 있는 것으로 평가되고 있는데, 그 중에서도 식품 분야는 이러한 한류의 영향을 상대적으로 크게 받는 분야이며, 한류의 영향이 비교적 빠르게 나타나는 분야이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 한류가 한국 가공식품 수출을 촉진시킨다는 가설을 설정하고, 중력모형을 이용하여 이를 검증하였다. 본 연구에서는 1994년부터 2012년 동안 총 28개국의 데이터를 활용하였으며, 한류 문화상품 수출이 한국 가공식품 수출에 어떻게 영향을 미치는지 조사하였다. 또한 한류의 누적효과를 고려하기 위해서 1인당 GDP 대비 누적 한류 문화상품 수출이 한국 가공식품 수출에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 그 결과, 한류 문화상품 수출 및 1인당 GDP 대비 누적 한류 문화상품 수출은 한국 가공식품 수출에 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났으며, 그 중에서도 1인당 GDP 대비 누적 한류 문화상품 수출의 영향력이 더 큰 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 정부 기관 및 기업에서 한국 가공식품 수출을 확대시키기 위해서는 어느 한 시점의 한류 문화상품 수출 상황만을 고려하는 것 보다 수출 국가의 소득 수준에 대비한 누적 한류 문화상품 수출을 고려하는 것이 효과적일 것으로 보인다.

영문 초록

As spreading of the Korean wave from the late 1990s until now, a study on economic impact of the Korean wave has been made besides a study on phenomenon of the Korean wave. By the previous studies, diffusion of the Korean wave has positive impact on the exports of Korean general goods. Among them, food industry is influenced greatly and quickly by the Korean wave than other fields. Therefore, in this study, we verified that the Korean wave promotes Korean processed food exports by using the gravity model. We used the data from 28 countries (1994 to 2012 years) and studied about an influence of the Korean wave cultural goods exports on Korean processed foods exports. To considering cumulative effect, we also studied about an influence of the cumulative Korean wave cultural goods exports to per capita GDP on Korean processed foods exports. As a result, both of them have a positive effect on Korean processed foods exports. In particular, the latter is greater than the former. Thus, government agencies and businesses should consider the cumulative Korean wave cultural goods exports to the income level of an exporting nation in order to expand Korean processed foods exports.
