노인의 심리적 안녕감 및 자아통합감이 성공적 노화에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

초 고령화 사회로 진입하는 속도가 가장 빠른 우리나라에서 노인들은 수명증가와 더불어 다양한 문제와 함께 죽음에 이르게 되는 삶을 영위하는 것이 직면하고 있는 현실이다. 이에 성공적인 노화에 대한 관심이 증가되고 있고 그 요인을 규명하는 것은 중요하다. 본 연구의 목적은 성공적 노화와 혼용되고 있는 노인의 심리적 안녕감 및 자아통합감과 성공적 노화와의 관계를 확인하기 위함이다. 연구방법은 2013년 3월 20일부터 5월 10일까지 65세 이상의 서울시 3개 구에 거주하는 재가노인 220명을 대상으로 하는 서술적 상관관계 분석연구로 SAS statistics 9.13 프로그램을 이용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과 심리적 안녕감은 연령, 학력, 동거형태, 월수입, 거주지에 따라 차이가 있었으며 자아통합감은 학력, 결혼상태, 동거형태, 종교, 질병 유무, 월수입, 거주지에 따라 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 성공적 노화에는 학력, 동거형태, 종교, 월수입, 거주지에 따라 차이가 있었으며 심리적 안녕감과 자아통합감과 유의한 상관관계가 나타났다. 성공적 노화에 영향을 주는 유의한 변수로는 심리적 안녕감과 자아통합감이었으며 이 변수들은 성공적 노화를 54.5% 설명하였고 이 중 자아통합감이 가장 영향력이 큰 변수였다. 따라서 노인들이 가진 여러 문제에도 불구하고 행복감을 느끼고 질적인 삶을 살 수 있도록 심리적 안녕감과 자아통합감을 증대시킬 수 있는 간호중재 프로그램을 개발하여 성공적 노화 정도를 향상시켜야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

South Korea is now facing increasing longevity of elderly along with various problems leading up to death as it rapidly enters into a super-aged society. On this, attention on successful aging is increasing and it is crucial to investigate the factor. The purpose of this research is to provide a basic data to develop a nursing intervention program and to identify factors which influence the successful aging by recognizing a relation between the psychological well-being, ego integrity and successful aging. The study design was a cross sectional descriptive study and the data was collected on 20th March to 10th May 2013 with a structured questionnaire from 220 elders of above age 65 living in Seoul. As a research finding, there were differences in education, cohabitation, religion, monthly income, residence in accordance with successful aging. The successful aging was significantly correlated with psychological well-being and ego integrity. The psychological well-being and ego integrity were the significant factors influencing the successful aging and these variables explained 54.5% of successful aging. Ego integrity was the most explicable variable. Thus, there should be further development of professional nursing strategies that can enhance successful aging by promoting psychological well-being and ego integrity.
