3단계 층화 확률화응답모형에서 비례배분과 최적배분의 효율성 비교

국문 초록

민감한 사안에 대한 사회 조사의 경우, 질문의 민감성 때문에 응답을 회피하거나 거짓으로 응답하는 경향으로 응답편의가 발생한다. Warner(1965)는 확률장치를 이용하여 응답자의 신분이나 비밀을 노출시키지 않고 민감한 질문에 대한 정보를 이끌어낼 수 있는 확률화응답모형을 제안하였다. Mangat, Singh(1990)는 2단계 확률화응답모형, Kim, Elam(2005)은 층화 2단계 확률화응답모형, Kim, Chae(2010b)은 층화 3단계 확률화응답모형을 연구하였다. 본 연구에서는 모집단에 대한 분산과 비용에 대한 정보가 부족할 경우 비례배분을 이용한 층화 3단계 확률화응답모형에 대해 연구하였다. 근사적 최적배분을 이용한 Kim, Chae(2010b)의 연구와 비례배분을 이용한 층화 3단계 확률화응답모형의 분산과 각각의 분산의 비로 계산되는 상대효율을 비교한 결과, 비례배분을 이용할 경우가 근사적 최적배분을 이용한 경우보다 분산이 약간 크지만 상대효율이 거의 모든 구간에서 1.0에 근접하였다. 모집단에 대한 사전 정보가 부족할 경우 조사비용이 적게 들고 표본배분 방법이 쉬운 비례배분을 이용해도 민감한 정보에 대한 큰 응답손실 없이 근사적 최적배분과 유사한 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.

영문 초록

Since there is still some social stigma attached to sensitive issues, direct questing of respondents with conventional interview techniques usually considerably underestimates the magnitude of the problem. In order to deal with such difficulties, the randomized response model was initially proposed by Warner (1965) for controlling non-sample error in surveys involving human population. It is designed to elicit sensitive information without stigmatizing the respondent, who is then likely to cooperate if he were being questioned directly on such matters. In this study, three-stage stratified randomized response models are proposed by using a proportional allocation. Then, the results are compared to Kim, Chae (2010b) that using an approximately optimal allocation. As a result, the efficient of the estimator based on proportional allocation is close to the efficient of the estimator based on approximately optimal allocation. At this point of view, the proposed stratified randomized response model with proportional allocation might be used if the variance and the cost of sampling are unknown.
