국문 초록

本稿は、スマートフォンのアプリケーション(カカオトーク或はLINE)を利用し、韓国人日本語学習者18名と日本語母語話者21名が1対1で遠隔交流を実施した授業の有用性を検証するものである。その結果、大きく3つのことがわかり、2つの問題点があった。 1つ目は、この活動が日本語の会話能力の向上に役立ったという点である。全体の8割以上の学生が話す能力の向上を支持していた。2つ目は、同世代の友達ができたという点である。同世代のため興味や関心分野が似ており、より親しくなり、楽しく会話ができたという意見があり、会話の授業では得られないものを得られた。3つ目は、日本語母語話者はメールの返信に時間がかかるという傾向があることがわかった点である。これは、遠隔交流が語学への影響のみならず、日本語母語話者の性質までも知ることができることを示している。 問題点の1つ目は、「連絡ができなかったペアが発生した」「スムーズな連絡ができないペアがあった」ことである。次回は、ID交換の際に誤りのないようタイピングしたものか、ふりがなを書いたもので交換し、ID登録時に検索できないということがないようにすべきである。また、期限を作り、いつまでに連絡をするということや、ペアにも相手の大学の教員を通して一定期間に連絡がいくということを伝えることが必要である。2つ目は、「日本語母語話者のビデオ通話への抵抗感」である。これも工夫しなければならない点である。

영문 초록

In this article, we conducted the remote-communication practice based on social media applications(Kakao Talk or LINE), where 18 Korean learners of Japanese and 21 native speakers of Japanese communicate on a one-to-one basis. There are three main findings as well as two problems associated with this type of practice. Firstly, this practice was beneficial for developing learners’ abilities of talking in Japanese. This is confirmed by the positive remarks made by more than 80% of the students. Secondly, the practice served as the opportunity for learners to make friends with other leaners of the same generation. As they share common interests due to the same generation, they said, they were able to enjoy conversations in a friendly manner and gained valuable experiences which would not be obtained in normal conversation classes. Thirdly, the result shows that Japanese people tend to take much time to reply to e-mail messages. This suggests that the practice of remote communications not only affects language learning but also enables learners to directly understand the nature of Japanese people. On the other hand, there are two problems. Firstly, there were issues with difficulty in communications, such as “Some people failed to reach their partners” and “Some people found it difficult to contact their partners.” This problem could be solved if we ensure that IDs are carefully handled (e.g. IDs are typed, notated in Hiragana, and so on) so that IDs can be successfully detected. Other possible solutions include the needs to set up the deadline for an initial contact and to tell students at the other university, through the teachers at the university, that they will be contacted shortly. Secondly, the issue of “Japanese students’ reluctance to make a video call to others.” This issue also needs to be addressed in future work.
