국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 초등학교 수학에서 다루는 곱셈적 구조에서 내포량이 가지는 교육적 의의를 탐색하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해, 먼저 이론적 고찰을 통해 내포량을 비율, 합성 단위 등과 연결하여 살펴보고, 다음으로 초등학교 교과서의 곱셈과 나눗셈 관련 단원에서 내포량이 어떻게 제시되어 있는지를 분석하였다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 초등학교 수학에서 다루는 곱셈적 구조에서 내포량이 가지는 중요성 및 시사점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 내포량은 덧셈적 구조와 구분되는 곱셈적 구조만의 특성이므로 곱셈을 처음 도입할 때 내포량을 명시적으로 제시할 필요가 있다. 둘째, 내포량은 곱셈적 구조에서 불변하는 특성이므로 내포량을 중심으로 곱셈적 구조에 해당하는 여러 내용들을 일관적이고 체계적으로 제시할 필요가 있다. 마지막으로 내포량은 곱셈 적 구조 내에서 두 양 사이의 일정한 관계와 불변한 관계를 파악하는 데 결정적인 역할을 하므로 학생들에게 내포량을 중심으로 두 양 사이의 다양한 관계를 경험할 수 있는 기회를 제공할 필요가 있다. 본 연구는 초등학교 수학에서 내포량을 중심으로 곱셈적 구조에 해당하는 주제들에 대한 일관적이고 체계적인 교수․학습 방안이 마련되기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

In order to investigate the significance of intensive quantity in multiplicative structure, this study theoretically explored the meaning of intensive quantity in connection with ratio or composite unit. This study also examined how the intensive quantities are presented in the multiplication and division unit of elementary school textbooks. Based on the results of the study, the implications of intensive quantity in elementary school mathematics are as follows. First, as the intensive quantity is a common characteristic of the multiplicative structure distinguished from the additional structure, the contents related to multiplicative structure can be connected with each other in terms of intensive quantity. Second, since the intensive quantity is invariant property in quantitive multiplicative structure, contents related to multiplicative structure can be presented consistently and systematically based on the intensive quantity. Finally, depending on how to interpret the intensive quantity, both of the two methods of multiplication (scalar and functional factor) can be discribed differently. This study is expected that the contents related to multiplicative structure can be presented consistently and systematically in the elementary school mathematics.
