국문 초록

본 연구는 온라인 학습환경에서 중요하게 인식되고 있는 사회적 실재감이 어떠한 과정을 통해 학습성과에 영향을 줄 수 있는지를 밝히기 위해 수행되었다. 이를 위해 원격대학원에서 온라인 강의를 수강하는 성인학습자를 대상으로 관련 변인에 대한 설문조사를 실시하여 사회적 실재감이 만족도와 인지된 스킬향상에 미치는 영향과 그 과정에서 자기효능감, 정교화 전략, 비판적 사고 전략의 매개효과를 분석하였다. 연구결과, 자기효능감은 사회적 실재감과 스킬향상인식과의 관계에서 부분 매개 효과가 있었으나 사회적 실재감과 만족도와의 관계에서는 매개효과가 나타나지 않 았다. 또한 정교화와 비판적 사고전략은 사회적 실재감과 스킬향상인식, 사회적 실 재감과 만족도 간의 관계에서 부분 매개효과가 있었다. 이러한 결과는 사회적 실재 감이 학습성과에 영향을 주는 과정에 학습자의 긍정적 동기요인과 적극적인 인지적 기여가 매개역할을 하고 있음을 나타낸다. 따라서 온라인 환경에서 사회적 실재감은 단순히 사회-정서적 개념으로 뿐만 아니라 자기효능감, 정교화, 비판적 사고와 같은 학습에 긍정적 변인들을 향상시키는 요인으로 인식할 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate how social presence influenced on learning outcomes in online learning environments by examining the mediating effects of self-efficacy, elaboration, critical thinking in the relationships between social presence and learning outcomes. The participants were the adult learners who took the online courses in J-cyber graduate school. A questionnaire to measure social presence, self-efficacy, elaboration, critical thinking, satisfaction, perceived skill development was administrated to this adult students by e-mail. The research findings are as follows. First, self-efficacy had a mediating effect between social presence and perceived development of skills, but did not have a mediating effect between social presence and satisfaction. Second, the higher level of cognitive strategies - elaboration and critical thinking had mediating effects between social presence and learning outcomes(satisfaction, perceived skill development). Based on the results, it was confirmed that social presence was a influential variable which had a direct effect on learning outcomes and also indirect effect through the self-efficacy, elaboration, and critical thinking.
