세계시민교육 관점에서 본 탈북청소년 교육방법적용과 방향성 고찰

국문 초록

이 글은 세계시민교육 관점에서 탈북청소년을 대상 한 교육방법적용과 방향성 고찰을 통해 탈북청소년이 남한사회에서 적응을 넘어 세계시민으로의 가능성과 시사점을 제공하는데 목적이 있다. 탈북청소년은 분단 상황이라는 우리사회의 특수한 위 치에서 상이한 사회문화적 배경을 갖고 있는 소외계층이다. 지금까지 이들에 대한관점은 사회의 지원이 필요한 대상으로 간주되어 왔으나 이제는 남한사회 적응을 넘어 사회구성원의 능동적 사회주체로의 전환이 요구된다. 이러한 점에서 세계시민교 육은 세계시민의 역할을 강조하는 실천 행동적 교육으로 탈북청소년의 자발적이며능동적 주체로서 국가정체성 형성을 돕는 교육적 가능성에 시사점을 제공한다. 따라서 세계시민교육 프로그램인 TOE(Through Other Eyes)의 4가지 학습을 제시하여 탈북청소년 교육방법적용과 방향성을 제안하였다. 그 제안은 다음과 같다. 첫째 세계시민으로 갖추어야 하는 능력을 함양할 수 있도록 탈북청소년의 세계시민 교육지원체계가 구축이 요구된다. 둘째 사회 구성원으로, 세계의 시민으로 글로벌 이슈에 대해 인식하고 적극적으로 동참하도록 유도해야 한다. 셋째 새로운 문화와 공간의 이해, 새로운 시각과 관점을 함양하는 교육, 새로운 체제에 대한 교육에 있어 다양한수업 모형과 기법이 활용되어야 한다. 마지막으로 탈북청소년의 세계시민교육 관점의 교육방법적용과 방향성 제공에 있어 그들을 우리사회 구성원이자 세계시민으로 바라보는 인식의 전환이 필요하다.

영문 초록

This paper aims to provide the possibility and implication that North Korean youths of refugee will be able to adapt to the global community as a global citizen through considering the educational direction and application method. North Korean defectors have long been regarded as the underprivileged in a special, social and cultural background. This viewpoint can be regarded as an active social subject of a society member or a person who needs social support. The global citizen education suggests educational possibility to help the development of national identity as a voluntary and active subject of North Korean defectors in terms of dynamic education that emphasizes the role of citizens of the world. Therefore, we adopted four learning methods of TOE (Through Other Eyes), a global citizen education learning program, and suggested the direction of North Korean youth education. The proposal is as follows. First, a global citizen education support system should be established in order to cultivate the ability to be equipped as a global citizen. Second, as a member of the global community, they should be encouraged to recognize and actively participate as the global citizen in global issues. Third, various teaching models and techniques should be utilized in understanding new cultures and spaces, developing new perspectives and perspectives, and teaching new systems. First of all, it is necessary to change the perception of viewers from as a member of North Korean citizens to a new member of citizens of the world.
