한국어 단모음의 난이도 위계 설정 연구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 중국인 한국어 학습자가 겪게 될 한국어 단모음의 난점과 오류를 예측하기 위해 Prator(1967)의 난이도 위계에 따라 중국어와 한국어 단모음의 난이도를 설정하는데 있다. 이를 위해 한국어와 중국어 개별 모음의 포먼트 값을 측정하여 대응 모음을 대조하였다. 실험 결과, 첫째로 두 언어 간에 차이가 없는 난이도 0에는[i], [a], [o], [e]의 4모음을 배정하였다. 이들은 두 언어 간 긍정적 전이를 보일 것으로 예측된다. 그러나 음운론적 접근에 의해 난이도 0에 배치한 한국어 모음 [u]는 통계 검정 결과 혀의 고저 위치를 나타내는 F1은 물론, 혀의 전후 위치를 나타내는 F2 모두에서 유의한 차이를 보였다. 따라서 한국어 [u]와 중국어 [u]는 동일한 소리로 볼 수 없기에 [u]는 재해석의 난이도 3에 배치하였다. 난이도 1에는 [ɨ] 모음을 배정하였다. 이는 모국어의 2가지 요인이 제2언어에서 하나로 합체되는 경우로 중국어 단모음[ɿ], [ʅ]가 한국어 [ɨ]로 합체된 것으로 보았다. 마지막으로 한국어 단모음 [ʌ]는 과잉구별의 난이도 4이다. 통계 검정 결과, 한국어 [ʌ]와 중국어 [ɣ]가 F1과 F2 모두에서 유의한 차이를 보였다. 따라서 한국어 [ʌ]에 해당되는 중국어 모음이 없다고 해석하였기 때문이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to set the hierarchy of difficulty of the Korean monophthongs for Chinese learners of Korean according to Prator’s theory based on the Contrastive Analysis Hypothesis. In addition to that, it is shown that the difficulties and errors for Chinese learners of Korean as a second or foreign language proceed directly from this hierarchy of difficulty. Based on these findings the hierarchy of difficulty was constructed. First, 4 Vowels [i], [a], [o], [e] would be Level 0(transfer); they would be transferred positively when Chinese learners learn Korean vowel. Secondly, Vowels [ɨ] would be Level 1(coalescence); this vowel doesn’t cause no interference in learning Korean. thirdly, Chinese vowel [ɣ] will be Level 2(Underdifferentiation); it doesn’t exist in the Korean vowel system and it cause interference in learning Korean as long as Chinese learners avoid using it. Fourthly, Vowels [u] would be Level 3(Reinterpretation); Korean [u] and Chinese [u] turned out a different sound in F1, F2 t-test. the vowel [u] causes difficulty for Chinese learners. And lastly, Korean [ʌ] that is not in the Chinese vowel system will be Level 4(Overdifferentiation);the new vowel [ʌ] must be learned anew otherwise it will cause much difficulty for Chinese learners both in speaking and writing Korean.
