17세기 여성시인 李玉齋의 삶과 문학

국문 초록

이옥재와 김성달 부부의 시는 부부시집 『안동세고』로 묶였다. 『안동세고』에는 총 249 수의 한시가 실려 있다. 이옥재의 시 71수, 김성달의 시 177수, 이옥재의 친정아버지 이홍상의 시 1수로 되어 있다. 이옥재의 시는 남편과 동일 주제를 놓고 함께 읊거나(共吟ㆍ共賦), 주고받은 시가 주류를 이루고 있어서 시의 제목도 자연스레 〈元韻〉과 〈次韻〉이 많다. 본 논문에서는 이옥재 한시의 문학세계를 다음과 같은 다섯 가지로 분석하였다. 첫째, 幸福한 日常: 『안동세고』에서 읽혀지는 이옥재의 전반적인 삶의 모습은 행복한 일상으로 충만되어있다. 이옥재의 한시 속에는 자상한 남편과 사랑스런 자녀들과의 행복한 일상이 고스란히 녹아져있다. 둘째, 漁村의 風情: 鰲頭里는 지금으로부터 사십여 년 전까지만 해도 바다로 둘러싸인 섬마을이었으나, 간척사업으로 논으로 변한 농촌이 되었다. 이옥재의 71편의 한시 가운데 많은 부분이 삶의 공간인 어촌의 풍정을 노래하였다. 셋째, 離別과 戀慕: 남편의 벼슬살이로 인해 떨어져있는 남편이 어서 빨리 집으로 돌아오기만을 기다리는 여인의 마음이 짙게 묻어 있다. 남편에 대한 변함 없는 신뢰와 일편단심의 戀歌風의 시가 주를 형성하고 있다. 넷째, 病中의 懷抱: 비교적 순탄한 생애를 보냈던 이옥재는 마흔 여덟이라는 아까운 나이에 운명하였다. 이옥재 만년 병중에 있을 때, 김성달은 벼슬로 외직에 있었기 때문에 많은 부분을 혼자 감당해야만 했다. 다섯째, 사랑의 盟誓: 이옥재는 바다와 산에 맹세하여 일편단심 고치지 않고, 백년가약의 중한 인연을 하루와 같이 약속한다는 시를 써서 남편에게 사랑과 믿음의 마음을 먼저 전했다. 영원히 변치 않는 사랑의 맹약이 감동스럽게 여겨진다. 이상 이옥재 한시가 우리나라 여성 한시사에서 차지하는 위상은, 부부시집을 엮은 유일한 사례라는 점, 자녀교육을 담당하여 미증유의 가족문학사를 이끌어 내었다는 점, 畿湖學派의 여성문학사 전개상 17세기의 맥을 잇고 있다는 점 등을 지적할 수 있다.

영문 초록

Ok-Jae Lee (李玉齋1643-1690) was an intellectual who heard, saw, and knew lots of things. She was a granddaughter of Jeong-Gu Lee, Weolsa, and inherited the literary environment of her family, so she had the makings of a writer. In addition, her husband, Seong-Dal Kim, was also a literary enthusiast who loved writing poems. The poems of Ok-Je Lee and Seong-Dal Kim are in 『Ahndongsego』, the collection of poems of them. The collection has 249 poems; 71 poems of Ok-Je Lee, 177 poems of Seong-Dal Kim, and 1 poem of Hong-Sang Kim, Ok-Jae Lee’s father. Most of her poems in the collection were written with the same subject that her husband took to write his poems, and some of them were written right after her husband finished his writing and vice versa. Therefore, many of the poems have the first word or second word in their name. This study analyzed the literary world of Ok-Jae Lee by classifying it into the following five parts. First, happy daily life : the overall life of Ok-Jae Lee shown in the collection seemed to be happy. In her poems, we can read that her husband was attentive and her siblings were lovely. Second, the tasteful appearance of fishing village : Ohdu-li was a fishing village on a island 40 years ago, but it became a farming village after filling out the sea. Many of the 71 poems of Ok-Jae Lee depicted the tasteful appearance of the village. Third, farewell and attachment : In the poems, a woman’s feeling that wished his husband who were away due to government service would back home is shown well. Unchanged trust and her love for her husband are full of her love poems. Forth, sad thoughts during her illness : Ok-Jae Lee died untimely at 48 although she lived relatively peaceful life. As her husband was away from home due to his government service when she was ill, she had to take care of many things by herself. Fifth, a pledge of love : Ok-Jae Lee made a vow to the sea and mountains that she would not break her love to her husband and her love to her husband was new everyday, and she included this vow in the poems, and sent them to her husband. The vow for her eternal love is very touched. Her poems have significance in the history of Chinese poems in Korea because ① hers is one and only case of the collection of poems of married couple, ②she made a breakthrough by making the family literature by raising her children by herself, and ③she inherited the trend of the 17th century in the female literary history of the school of Kiho.
