국문 초록

본 연구는 다문화 초등학교 학부모를 대상으로 한 학교참여교육 프로그램의 효과를 분석하고, 이를 통해 학부모가 자녀의 학업 성취, 정서 발달, 문화적 정체성 형성, 진로 계획, 지역사회 적응을 지원할 수 있는 방안을 밝히는데 목적이 있다. 이 연구는 내러티브 접근법을 활용하여 다문화 부모들의 개인적·사회적 경험을 심층적으로 탐구하고, 이들이 겪는 어려움과 교육 프로그램의 필요성을 조명하였다. 그 결과, 학교참여교육 프로그램은 학부모들이 자녀의 학습 스타일과 문화적 정체성을 이해하고, 한국 교육 시스템에 대한 자신감을 향상시키는 데 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 이를 통해 학부모와 자녀가 학업 목표를 설정하고 이를 달성하기 위한 협력 관계를 구축하였다. 또한, 학부모와 교사 간 신뢰와 협력을 강화하여 문화적 차이를 극복하고 자녀의 학업 성과와 정서적 안정에 기여하였다. 또한 학부모 간 네트워크 형성과 지역사회 활동 참여를 촉진하여 소속감과 자부심을 고취시키는 데 도움을 주었다. 이를 바탕으로 학부모들은 자녀의 흥미와 적성을 발견하고, 진로 설계에 필요한 역량을 개발할 수 있었다. 이처럼 학교참여교육 프로그램은 다문화 가정의 자녀 교육 및 사회 적응을 지원하는 핵심적인 도구로 확인되었으며, 맞춤형 프로그램 개발과 정책적 지원의 필요성이 강조되었다. 이러한 교육은 학부모 역량을 증진시켜 다문화 사회의 통합과 발전에 기여할 것이다.

영문 초록

This study analyzed the effectiveness of a school participation education program for multicultural elementary school parents and explored ways to support parents in fostering their children's academic achievement, emotional development, cultural identity formation, career planning, and adaptation to the local community. Using a narrative approach, the study delved into the personal and social experiences of multicultural parents, highlighting their challenges and the need for tailored educational programs. The findings revealed that the school participation education program positively impacted parents by enhancing their understanding of their children's learning styles and cultural identities, as well as boosting their confidence in navigating the Korean education system. This enabled parents to collaboratively establish academic goals with their children and develop strategies to achieve them. Additionally, the program strengthened trust and cooperation between parents and teachers, helping to overcome cultural differences and contributing to children's academic success and emotional stability. Furthermore, the program promoted the formation of parent networks and encouraged participation in community activities, fostering a sense of belonging and pride. Through this process, parents were better equipped to identify their children's interests and aptitudes, as well as develop the skills necessary for career planning. In conclusion, the school participation education program proved to be a crucial tool in supporting the education and social adaptation of children from multicultural families. The study emphasized the need for the development of customized programs and policy support. Such education not only enhances parental capabilities but also contributes to the integration and advancement of multicultural societies.
