저숙련 외국인근로자의 온보딩을 위한 온라인 한국어교육프로그램 프로토타입 개발연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 제조업 분야 중소기업에 근무하는 저숙련 외국인근로자의 온보딩을 위한 온라인 한국어교육프로그램 프로토타입을 개발하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 저숙련 외국인근로자가 가장 많이 분포한 경기도 H시 소재 중소기업을 대상으로 온라인 한국어교육 현황 및 인식에 대해 설문조사를 하였으며, 이후 한국인 관리자를 대상으로 개별 면담을 통해 입국 직후 외국인근로자의 생산성 향상에 도움을 주는 온보딩 시나리오를 도출하였다. 설문 조사 결과, 첫째, 중소기업의 온라인 한국어교육 서비스 도입 의지 수준은 보통 수준으로 확인되었으나 대면교육과 비교 시 온라인교육 효과에 대한 기대는 보통 이상으로 나타났다. 둘째, 외국인근로자에게 온라인 한국어교육 서비스가 제공된다면 시공간의 제약 없이 반복적·자율적으로 멀티미디어에 기반한 학습이 가능할 것으로 기대하였다. 셋째, 온라인 학습에 있어 적정 횟수(시간)의 경우 실시간일 때 주 2~3회(회당 1~2시간), 비실시간일 때 주 3회(31분~50분)를 가장 선호하였다. 다음으로 개별 면담을 통해 온보딩을 위한 한국어교육 내용으로 작업현장에서 사용되는 공구 용어가 선정되었다. 이후 온라인 한국어교육프로그램 프로토타입을 개발하기 위해 한국어교육 웹사이트와 앱을 분석한 후 다섯 가지 설계 원리를 도출하였으며, 스크럼 방법으로 온보딩 과정에서 한국어로 작업 공구 명칭 등을 학습할 수 있도록 화면을 설계하였다. 이를 토대로 향후 온라인 한국어교육프로그램으로 개발하고, 교육효과성을 검증한다면, 입국 전 제조업에 근무하게 될 외국인근로자를 위한 사전 교육과 입국 후 온보딩을 지원하기 위한 수시 교육에 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

영문 초록

This study aims to develop a prototype of an online Korean language education program for onboarding low-skilled foreign workers employed in small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises(SMEs). A survey on online Korean language education was conducted targeting SMEs in Gyeonggi-do, specifically in the city of H., where foreign workers are predominantly employed. Following this, In-depth Interviews(IDI) with Korean managers were conducted to derive an onboarding scenario that could enhance the productivity of foreign workers upon their arrival. The survey results revealed that, first, while the willingness to adopt online Korean language education services in SMEs was moderate, expectations for the effectiveness of online education compared to in-person training were above average. Second, it was anticipated that providing online Korean language education would enable foreign workers to engage in self-paced, repetitive, multimedia-based learning without time and space constraints. Third, the preferred frequency and duration of online sessions were 2-3 times a week (1-2 h/session) for synchronous learning and 3 times a week (31-50 m/session) for asynchronous learning. Through individual interviews, it was determined that the focus of the Korean language education content for onboarding would be on terminology related to manufacturing tools used in the workplace. After analyzing existing Korean language education websites and apps, five key design principles were established to create the prototype. Using the Scrum methodology, the onboarding process was designed to enable workers to learn tool terminology in Korean. This prototype is expected to evolve into a comprehensive online Korean language education program that could be used for pre-arrival training for foreign workers in manufacturing and ongoing onboarding support after their arrival. The program's effectiveness can be verified, providing a flexible, on-demand educational resource for improving foreign workers' integration into the workforce.
