AI 기반 평가: 이론적 토대, 구체적 모형, 그리고 수업 적용의 방안

국문 초록

본 연구는 AI 기반 평가 툴의 개발 및 적용이 점점 활성화되어가는 상황 속에서 AI 기반 평가가 왜 필요하며, 어떤 유형과 준거를 가지고 있으며, 구체적 사례와 향후 개발 및 적용의 방향이 무엇인지를 탐구하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 첫째, AI 기반 평가의 필요성, 핵심 원리, 평가의 유형, 그리고 평가의 효과성을 판단할 준거는 무엇인가, 둘째, AI 기반 평가 툴에 적용할 수 있는 학습의 원리와 구체적 모형은 무엇인지, 그리고 셋째, AI 기술의 특징을 반영한 평가 툴의 구체적 사례와 교실 수업에의 적용방안은 무엇인가라는 세 가지 연구문제를 탐색하였다. 본 연구의 핵심 논의를 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, AI 기반 평가를 잘 활용한다면, 교사의 업무부담 감소, 교수활동에의 집중력 증진, 그리고 학생과의 상호작용 기회 증가라는 여러 교육적 효과를 지닐 수 있다. 둘째, AI 기반 평가 툴의 타당성이나 공정성을 담보하기 위해서는 신뢰도와 타당도, 공정성, 사용편의성, 데이터 보완, 그리고 평가 활용의 적용성/융통성의 요소들을 고려해야 한다. 셋째, AI 기반 평가 툴의 주요 원리와 특징 네 가지(개인화 및 적응성, 지속적 진단과 피드백, 다차원적 평가, 데이터 기반 의사결정)에 따른 AI 기반 평가의 구체적 사례를 제시하였다. 넷째, 최근 AI 기반 평가의 기술적 트렌드는 교수학습 경험의 데이터화(자연어 처리 기술), 총체적 평가 자료 수집 및 분석(AI 기반 포트폴리오 평가), 메타 버스 속에서의 활동 평가(가상공간 및 시뮬레이션 학습 평가), 그리고 정서적 요소가 학습에 미치는 효과 분석(감성 분석을 통한 학습 태도 평가)로 제시할 수 있다. 본 연구의 논의는 최근 생성형 AI 기술이 학교교육 평가의 영역에서 활발히 적용될 수 있다는 시사점을 제공해줄 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

This study aims to explore why AI-based assessment is necessary, what types and criteria it involves, and what specific examples and future directions for development and application exist in the growing field of AI-based assessment tools. To achieve this, the study establishes two key research questions: first, what are the necessity, core principles, types of AI-based assessment, and the criteria for evaluating its effectiveness, and second, what are the latest technological features applied to AI-based assessment tools, and how can these features be reflected in specific tools and classroom applications? The findings of this study are summarized as follows: first, effective utilization of AI-based assessments can yield several educational benefits, including reduced teacher workload, increased focus on teaching activities, and enhanced opportunities for interaction with students; second, to ensure the validity and fairness of AI-based assessment tools, it is necessary to consider factors such as reliability, validity, fairness, usability, data security, and the applicability and flexibility of the evaluation; third, the study presents specific examples of AI-based assessment categorized by four major principles and features, including personalization and adaptability, continuous diagnosis and feedback, multidimensional assessment, and data-driven decision-making; and fourth, recent technological trends in AI-based assessment include the datafication of teaching and learning experiences using natural language processing, comprehensive collection and analysis of assessment materials through AI-based portfolio assessment, evaluation of activities within the metaverse via virtual space and simulation learning assessment, and analysis of the impact of emotional factors on learning through sentiment analysis for learning attitude assessment. This study concludes that the integration of generative AI technologies into the field of school education assessment offers significant implications for enhancing assessment practices.
