국문 초록

본 논문은 문화예술교육 활성화라는 궤적에 맞닿아 탐색되고 있는 미술교육에 대한 이론적 논의를 시도한다. 특히 미술교육의 인문학적 가치를 중심으로 이러한 접점에 대한 이해가 필요함을 제기한다. 이를 위해 기존의 미술교육이 수행한 도구적이고 본질적인 기능을 넘어 문화예술교육과 미술교육에 대한 일반적 논의를 바탕으로 미술교육이 함축하고 있는 인문학적인 가치가 논의된다. 다음으로 다양한 최근 미술교육담론에 결부될 수 있는 인문학적 가치를 문화예술교육과 결부지어 검토된다. 구체적으로 시각문화미술교육, 미술교육에서의 비평적 담론, 총체적 미술교육, 그리고 사회의 지속성장을 추구하는 미술교육(AESD: Art education for sustainable development)과 연관 지어 문화예술교육에 요구되는 미술교육의 인문학적 가치를 구체화한다. 마지막으로 이런 인문학적인 접근을 위한 미술교육 방안을 쟁점중심 미술교육을 중심으로제안한다. 문화예술교육과 미술교육의 접점을 인문학적 가치를 중심으로 탐구한 본 연구는 궁극적으로 기존 미술교육에 대한 인식의 전환과 확산을 위한 보다 학문적, 실천적 논의를 전개할 플랫폼을 제공할 것으로 기대된다.

영문 초록

This study is to discuss the contingent point between arts and culture education and art education. This aim is to activate art educators awareness of a way in which art education can initiate a new approach to embrace emergence and vitalizations of culture and arts education as a new growing point of art education. In particular, the humanistic value of art education is conceptualized and elaborated to formulate our initiate discussion within in this tangent. For this purpose, launching this new value, firstly, tries to go over the dichotomy between the functional value and essential value of art education. Secondly, investigation into various contemporarydiscourses in art education such as VCAE(Visual culture art education), critical discourses, holistic approaches to art education, and AESD(Art education for sustainable development) highlights this new value in art education for culture and arts education. Finally, the idea of issues-based art education set a path for our practical ideas to adapt this new value that opens a public platform for new possibilities and leadership of art education within this integral perspective. Through this theoretical foundation discussed in this article, further investigation into more solid academic and practical discussion will be set off.
