국문 초록

미술은 학생들에게 개념, 정서, 정신성, 감각을 통해 삶을 탐구하는 다양한 방법들을 제공한다. 또한 우리의 사회적·문화적 삶의 이해를 조사하고 표현하는 방법들을 제공하며 다른 교과 영역들과 밀접하게 연결되어 있다. 즉, 미술작품은 그것이 만들어진 문화적 관점 안에서 학습되어야 한다는 사실을 의미한다. 따라서 미술 교육은 모든 인간 활동과 창의적 사고에 아주 중요한 역할을 하는 교과로 인식해야 한다. 이를 위해서는 학생들의 생각을 열어주고 시각 정보를 소화할 수 있는 체계적이고 통합적인 교육이 필요하며, 어린이의 특성을 이해해 그들이 삶 속에서 가장 가깝게 접하는 것을 미술 소재로 끌어들여 자발적인 참여를 유도해야 한다. 이 논문은 초등학교 현장교육 연구이다. 그러므로 교육과정에 맞는 미술교육을 통합교육으로 실행하기 위한 주제를 찾아내고, 이를 중심으로 타 교과와의 통합학습안을 제시하였다. 미술과가 중심이 되는 통합교수학습안에 의한 수업의 활성화를 위해 2011년에 부산시 동항초등학교에서 수업을 실행하였고 수업의 결과를 살펴보았다. 이 연구는 초등교육에서 각 교과 내에 스며들어있는 미술적 요소, 교과별 내용을 미술교과와 관련시켜서 통합교육의 가능성을 모색하였으며 교육 현장에서 교사들이 직접 활용할 수 있는 통합교수 학습과정 안을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

Art can provide students with ways of understanding and exploring their lives in terms of culture and society. In addition, art is closely related to other subjects. In other words, artwork should be learned in the context of the culture where it is created. Therefore, art education has to let go of superficial skills or techniques, if it is to support a thinking process that allows for the exploration of visual information, the adequate judging of information available in today’s world, and the abilities to create meaningful art. So art education should be considered an important subject playing an important role in developing creativity and understanding society. In order to achieve these goals, art education needs to be integrated with other subjects and should also to be systematic in nature in order to expand students thoughts and critical understandings of visual images. Furthermore, by including images familiar to children s every day lives, art teachers can extract voluntary participation from their students through the art class activities. The purpose of this research is to seek ways of integrating art education into the other subject areas in elementary education. This research also suggests an integrated art education curriculum for school teachers to use in their classrooms.
