국문 초록

사회적 배려대상 영재에 대한 관심과 지원이 점차적으로 확대가 되고 있으나, 이들에 대한 이한 인식이나 이해가 부족하고 수행능력 위주의 선발 방식으로 인해 여전히 영재교육대상에서 소외되기도 한다. 본 연구에서는 사회적 배려대상 예술영재발굴캠프 사례를 통해서 사회적 배려대상 예술영재발굴방안을 고찰하여 보았다. 그 결과, 사회적 배려대상 계층 영재 선발 시에는 표준화된 검사를 통한 성취수준보다는 잠재능력 및 발전 가능성을 기준으로 하는 것이 바람직하며 영재 아동의 개인적 환경 및 특성에 대한 고려를 위해 다각적이고 장기적인 과정 중심의 평가가 이루어져야 한다.

영문 초록

Social supports to develop the talents of the disadvantaged gifted have been expanded and the demand for research in the disadvantaged gifted education has been grown. However, they still tend to be excluded because education institutes for the gifted still focus too much on the capability when they identify the disadvantaged gifted. In this study, I analyzed a case of an art camp planned for educating and identifying the disadvantaged gifted in visual arts and then, discussed the way to identify them. The camp consisted of four days education program including four steps of identifying the gifted; reviewing documents, standardized tests, class observations, and synthesis evaluation. Through the analysis of the case, I concluded as below:First, for the disadvantaged, students potential should be considered primarily because they couldn t demonstrate their ability because of the environmental restrictions. Second, multiple perspectives and criteria should be considered based on understanding the disadvantaged gifted during identifying process. Third, the learning process should be a part of evaluation. What they do in the future is more important than what they can do now. Fourth, qualitative evaluation along with quantitative should be performed to evaluate their potential.
