국문 초록

본 연구는 코로나19 상황에서 장애인 거주시설 사회복지사가 경험한 발달장애인의 도전적 행동 경험의 본질을 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 장애인거주시설 근무 경력 3년 이상 발달장애인 거주시설 사회복지사 11명을 대상으로 심층 면담을 진행하였다. 심층면담한 자료는 Giorgi의 현상학적 연구방법을 활용하여 분석하였다. 분석결과, 38개의 중심의미, 10개의 하위범주, 5개의 상위범주가 도출되었다. 5개 상위범주는 ‘끝없는 사막에 홀로 서 있음’, ‘실천 방향을 잃고 어찌할 바를 모름’, ‘굳어진 틀을 깨기 위한 몸부림을 침’, ‘어두운 터널에서 불빛을 발견함’, ‘현장에서 발견한 새로운 길을 찾아감’과 같다. 본 연구결과를 기반으로 거주시설 발달장애인의 도전적 행동을 경험하는 사회복지사를 위한 실천 및 정책적 제언을 하였다.

영문 초록

This study explored the essence of the experiences of social workers in residential facilities regarding the challenging behaviors of people with developmental disabilities during the COVID-19 pandemic. To achieve this, in-depth interviews were conducted with 11 social workers who had at least three years of experience in residential facilities for people with developmental disabilities. The collected data were analyzed using Giorgi's phenomenological research method. From the analysis, 38 key meanings, 10 sub-categories, and 5 main categories were extracted. The five main categories were “standing alone in an endless desert,” “losing practical directions and not knowing what to do,” “struggling to break the rigid framework,” “finding a light in a dark tunnel,” and “finding a new path in practice.” Based on the findings, this study provides practical and policy suggestions for supporting social workers who experience the challenging behaviors of people with developmental disabilities in residential facilities.
