국문 초록

연구목적 본 연구에서는 학업적 맥락에서의 문제행동을 바탕으로 초등학생을 유형화하고, 문제행동 프로파일에 따른 삶의 만족도 및 학업성취의 차이, 성실성과 시험불안, 사회적지지, 성취압력이 문제행동 프로파일 분류에 미치는 예측력을 살펴보고자 하였다. 연구방법 이를 위해 경제협력개발기구(OECD)가 추진하여 수집한 사회정서역량 수준 및 실태 조사 자료를 활용하였으며, 대구광역시 만 10세 3,762명의 자료를 분석하였다. 문제행동에 대한 잠재프로파일분석을 통해 학생들을 유형화하고, 이와 관련된 예측변인과 결과변인을 분석했다. 연구결과 문제행동 프로파일은 주의집중문제 집단, 잠재적주의집중문제 집단, 규범회피 집단, 평균 집단, 적응 집단의 다섯 가지로 분류되었다. 프로파일 분류에 있어 수면곤란을 동반한 주의집중문제, 낮은 수업참여를 보이며 규칙을 따르지 않는 문제가 중요하게 작용했다. 결과변인 분석 결과, 적응 집단 및 평균 집단은 학업성취 및 삶의 만족도가 상대적으로 높게 나타난 반면, 잠재적 주의집중문제 집단, 주의집중문제 집단, 규범회피 집단은 학업성취 및 삶의 만족도가 상대적으로 낮게 나타났다. 예측변인 분석 결과, 성실성은 규범회피문제를 예측하는 것으로 확인되었으며, 성실성, 시험불안, 사회적지지, 성취압력은 모두 주의집중 문제 발생 가능성을 예측하는 것으로 나타났다. 결론 본 연구는 학업적 맥락에서의 문제행동을 바탕으로 초등학생을 유형화하고, 문제행동 집단과 비문제행동 집단 간 삶의 만족도와 학업성취에서 차이가 나타났음을 확인하였다. 주의집중문제 집단과 규범회피문제 집단은 결과적으로 삶의 만족도와 학업성취에서는 차이를 보이지 않았지만, 이 두 집단을 예측하는 변인에는 차이가 있었다. 이는 학습의 결과적 측면에서 유사하더라도 문제행동의 유형이 다르다면 유형에 맞는 차별화된 교육적 접근과 처치가 필요함을 시사한다.

영문 초록

Purpose: This study aims to classify elementary school students considering their problem behaviors in an academic context. It also aims to examine different relationships of life satisfaction and academic achievement as outcomes and of conscientiousness, test anxiety, social support, and achievement pressure as predictors depending on problem behavior profiles. Methods: This study utilized data from the Social and Emotional Skills Survey, collected by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), and analyzed data from 3,762 ten-year-old students in Daegu. Ten-year-old elementary students were classified considering their problem behaviors using latent profile analysis, and relevant predictive and outcome variables were examined. Results: The study classified five problem behavior profiles: Attention Problem, Potential Attention Problem, Norm-Avoidance, Average, and Adaptive profiles. Key profiles were classified depending on the degrees of attention and sleep problems or the degrees of low class participation and rule non-compliance. Adaptive and Average groups showed relatively higher levels of academic achievement and life satisfaction, while Potential Attention Problem, Attention Problem, and Norm-Avoidance groups showed relatively lower levels. In addition, conscientiousness predicted norm-avoidance problems, while conscientiousness, test anxiety, social support, and achievement pressure predicted attention problems. Conclusion: This study classified elementary school students considering their problem behaviors in an academic context and confirmed that life satisfaction and academic achievement differ depending on the problem behavior profiles. While the Attention Problem and Norm-Avoidance groups did not show differences in life satisfaction and academic achievement, there was a difference in the variables predicting these two groups. These findings suggest that, even when students show similar levels of academic outcomes, differentiated educational approaches and interventions tailored to each problem behavior group are necessary.
