대학 고전읽기 교육의 교육목표와 운영방안에 대한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 S대학교의 <명저읽기> 교과목을 중심으로 대학 고전읽기 교육의 현실적 과제를 고전읽기 교과목의 교육목표와 수업 운영방안으로 나누어 문헌 연구와 학습자 설문조사를 근거로 논의를 진행하였다. S대학교의 고전읽기 교육의 목표는 인성 함양에 근본을 두고 의사소통능력, 비판적‧창의적 사고력, 문제해결능력 함양을 부차적인 목표로 삼고 있다. 그러나 교과목의 목표가 기본목표와 핵심역량 기반 교육목표로 구분되어 체계화되지 못해 이를 개선해야 함을 알 수 있었다. S대학교의 <명저읽기>는 근본적인 가치를 추구하는 것이 1차 목표이고, 의사소통능력 함양은 2차 목표로 삼고 있다. 따라서 고전읽기 교과목의 목표인 인성함양, 의사소통능력 함양, 비판적‧창의적 사고력 함양, 문제해결능력의 고취를 위해 ‘글쓰기와 말하기가 매우 밀접하게 연계된 읽기 중심 교육’ 방식으로 수업을 운영하고 있다. 설문조사 결과 학생 대부분이 <명저읽기>의 교과 목표와 강좌의 중요성을 인식하고 있고, 그 목표를 달성하기 위해 가장 좋은 방법으로 토론하기를 꼽았다. 그러나 토론행위의 선행요소인 책 읽기의 어려움을 토로하고 있어 기존의 수업 방식을 바탕으로 효과적인 개선방안을 모색해 보았다.

영문 초록

This study examined the practical tasks of college classical reading education by dividing them into the educational goals and class management of the classical reading subject, focusing on the subject of S University. Discussions were conducted based on literature research and learner surveys. The goal of S University's classical reading education is based on character development, and the secondary goal is to cultivate communication skills, critical and creative thinking skills, and problem-solving skills. However, since the objectives of the subject are divided into basic and core competencybased educational goals, there is a problem that has not been systematized due to being organically connected and needs to be improved. The primary goal of S University's is to pursue fundamental values, and the secondary goal is to cultivate communication skills. Therefore, the class is operated in a very closely linked manner with “reading-writing-speaking” to foster personality, communication skills, critical and creative thinking skills, and promote problem-solving skills that the classic reading subject aims for. As a result of the survey, most of the students recognized the importance of the subject goal in the course of and cited that discussion among students in the best way to achieve the goal. However, as students have been speaking about difficulties in the reading books, which is a prerequisite for the discussion behavior, they sought effective improvement measures based on the existing teaching method.
