국문 초록

본고는 『쓰쓰미추나곤모노가타리』에 수록된 ｢사랑하는 여인을 얻지 못하는 곤추나곤(逢坂越えぬ権中納言)｣의 창작 방식에 관해 ‘로쿠조 모노가타리우타아와세’와의 관계에서 고찰한 것이다. ｢사랑하는 여인을 얻지 못하는 곤추나곤｣은 작자 고시키부가 로쿠조 모노가타리아와세에 제출한 작품으로 『쓰쓰미추나곤모노가타리』의 성립 사정과 작품 내용을 추정하는 유일한 지표가 되어왔다. 본 작품에서는 『에이가모노가타리』등에서 볼 수 있는 모노가타리아와세 개최 당시의 분위기와 정서가 확인되며, 아와세를 주재했던 로쿠조 사이인의 영향력 및 모노가타리의 향수자이자 창작자였던 뇨보들의 관심과 행동을 확인할 수 있다. 작자는 궁중의 주요 행사로 수십 년간 지속되었던 네아와세 행사의 장을 모노가타리의 무대로 삼아 스토리를 구성하고, 창포를 제재로 와카와 모노가타리를 제작하여 황실의 번영을 기원했다. 본 모노가타리는 와카와 선대 모노가타리를 적절하게 활용하는 수사법과 현장의 감상자를 배려하는 스토리와 주제로 아와세에 참가한 뇨보들이 경험하고 바라던 것을 모노가타리로 체현해낸 것으로 보인다. 로쿠조 모노가타리아와세의 현장을 연상시키는 작품 속의 네아와세 장면은 공통성과 조응 관계를 넘어 본 모노가타리의 창작 및 작품 세계와 그 향수의 관계를 말해 준다. 작자는 후반부의 주나곤의 사랑에 얽힌 장면에서 『겐지모노가타리』의 ｢우쓰세미｣권을 연상시키는 여운을 남겨 이후의 전개를 기대하게 하는 한편, 연애가 금기시되는 사이인을 배려한 듯한 인물 조형과 장면 설정으로 모노가타리의 전개를 마무리했다. 평소 사이인의 문학 살롱에서 모노가타리와 와카를 향유하던 뇨보들은 모노가타리아와세에 참석함으로써 향수 주체에서 창작 주체로 변신하였으며, 아와세의 현장과 현실의 세계를 오가며 문학 작품을 생성하고 향수했던 것으로 보인다.

영문 초록

This article analyzes the creative method of “Osakakoenugonchunagon Monogatari” included in “Tsutsumichunagon Monogatari” in relation to the ‘Rokujo Mon-ogatariawase’. “Osakakoenugonchunagon Monogatari” is a work submitted by the author, Koshikibu, to ‘Rokujo Monogatariawase’, and it estimates the circumstances of creation of “Tsutsumichunagon Monogatari”. In this work, the sentiment at the time of ‘Rokujo Monogatariawase’, which can be seen in “Eigamonogatari” are confirmed, as well as the influence of the Rokujosaiin who presided over ‘Rokujo Monogatariawase’ and the nyobo who were creators of monogatari. The author composed the story using the neawase event, which was a major event in the royal palace and lasted for decades, as the stage for “Osakakoenugonchunagon Monogatari” and created waka and monogatari using iris as a material to pray for the prosperity of the imperial family. This monogatari seems to have embodied in monogatari what the nyobo who participated in ‘Rokujo Monogatariawase’. The correspondence between the scene of ‘Rokujo Monogatariawase’ and the neawase scene in the work speaks of the relation between the creation of this work and its nostalgia. In the scene related to Chunagon's love in the second half, the author makes people look forward to further development with a ending and lingering feeling reminiscent of the “Utsusemi” volume of “Tales of Genji”, while also seeming to be considerate of Saiin for whom love is taboo. The development of the “Osakakoenugonchunagon Monogatari” was completed with character sculpting and scene settings. Nyobo, who usually enjoyed monogatari and waka at Rokujo Saiin's literary salons, transformed from nostalgic subjects into creative subjects by attending ‘Rokujo Monogatariawase’, creating literary works by going back and forth between the scene of ‘Rokujo Monogatariawase’ and the real world.
