자전적 서사의 형상화 과정을 통한 서사 창작 교육 방향 연구

국문 초록

창작은 자신과 자신을 둘러싼 세계, 그러한 세계와 자신의 삶의 관계를 인식하는 데 교육적인 측면을 함의하고 있다. 그러나 국어교육에서는 창작의 교육적 필요성을 깨닫고 있음에도 불구하고 많은 문제들이 존재한다. 국어교육에서 창작 교육은 어떻게 위치할 것인가 하는 영역을 포함한 교육과정상의 문제, 무엇을 어떻게 가르쳐야할 것인가 하는 교수․학습의 문제, 학생들의 창작 과정과 결과를 어떻게 점검해야 할 것인가 하는 평가의 문제 등, 창작 교육의 설계와 실천의 측면에서 주목할 만한 이론적 논의는 거의 찾아보기 어려운 실정이다. 본고는 이러한 점을 염두에 두어, 서사 창작 교육에서 교수․학습 방법의 일환으로서 형상화교육에 초점을 맞추었다. 그동안 창작 교육에서 형상화란 인물의 성격이나 사건, 배경 혹은 시간의 구성과 같은 기술적인 측면에 함몰되어 있던 게 사실이다. 그러나 형상화는 정밀한 묘사보다 작가의 흥미, 상상, 감동, 경험과 같은 측면에서 이루지고 있음을 알아야 한다. 따라서 본고에서는 『백범일지』라는 자전적 서사에서 이러한 형상화 요소들이 어떻게 작용하는지 살펴보았다. 그리하여 서사 창작 교육에서 형상화 교육의 방향에 대해 크게 네 가지를 제시하였다. 자아와 세계인식, 체험의 의미화, 서술주체와 행위주체의 상호교섭, 구체적인 독자를 대상으로 한 솔직한 소통방식의 의미 등이 바로 그것이다. 텍스트 중심의 분석․이해교육에 함몰된 감이 없지 않은 오늘의 국어교육에서 교사와 학습자의 소통을 중시한 창작 교육을 실천하기란 쉬운 일이 아니다. 그러므로 자신이 가장 잘 아는 이야기를 통해 접근할 수 있는 자전적 서사의 형상화 요소를 추출하여 형상화 과정을 이해하고 그것을 바탕으로 서사 창작을 도모하는 일은 서사, 창작, 상상력, 서사 창작 능력 등의 개념을 밝히는 데도 많은 도움이 될 것이다.

영문 초록

It is well-known that creative writing would be helpful educationally in life by recognizing the relationship between the world and the self and by reflecting the self. However, there are lots of problems in Korean language education regardless of realizing the necessity of creative writing education. In Korean language education, many arguments should be confronted in the design and practice in creative writing education, such as curriculum, teaching-learning, and evaluation. This study would emphasize on configuration education in terms of teaching-learning in creative writing education. And the discussion on creative writing in the study would be developed by narrative creative writing. All the while it is apparent that configuration in creative writing has been focused on only descriptive aspects, for example, character, incident, background, sequence of time and so on. However, configuration should be stressed on emotional aspects, such as, interest, motive, imagination, move, rather than descriptive aspects. This study examined how these aspects would be configurated in autobiographical narrative 『Paekpom Ilchi』, the autobiography of Kim-Ku. Then, the study proposed four ways for configuration education in narrative creative writing; the recognition of the self and the world, the meaning of individual experience, the interaction between narrator and actor, and the meaning of the methods of communication aimed at specific readers. It is significantly necessary relating to the teaching-learning aspects that the factors of configuration are extracted and they explain the relationship between them and the principle of actions in creative writing education. It is not easy for teachers and students to teach or learn the process of creative writing since it could be ended up just simply analyzing texts. Therefore, the work of establishing the factors of configuration and its relationship, and explaining the principles of actions will be useful to define the concepts, for example, creative writing move, imagination, move, and creative writing competence.
