국문 초록

본 연구는 1994년부터 2013년까지의 반기 재무제표와 연차 재무제표를 대상으로 순장부금액과 이익의 주가설명력을 비교 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 반기 재무제표와 연차 재무제표의 순장부금액과 이익의 주가설명력은 시간의 경과에 따라 증가하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 전반적으로 순장부금액모형의 설명력이 이익모형의 설명력보다 높게 나타났으며, 연차 재무제표의 순장부금액 주가설명력이 반기 재무제표의 순장부금액 주가설명력에 비하여 상대적으로 높게 나타났다. 순장부금액과 이익 모두 외환위기 이전에 비하여 외환위기 이후에 높은 주가설명력을 보이고 있으며, 특히 이익의 주가설명력은 외환위기 이후에 크게 증가하였다. 한편, 반기 재무제표와 연차 재무제표의 순장부금액과 이익의 주가설명력 차이는 외환위기 이전에 비하여 이후에 감소하였다.

영문 초록

Using a comprehensive sample of firms listed on Korea Exchange from 1994 to 2013, we examine the explanatory power of semi-annual and annual financial statements information, specifically net book value and earnings, for stock price. Results show that the explanatory power of both semi-annual and annual financial statements information for stock price increases over time. Overall, the explanatory power of net book value for stock price tends to be relatively greater than that of earnings for stock price and the explanatory power of annual net book value for stock price is likely to be greater than that of semi-annual net book value for stock price. The explanatory power of net book value and earnings for stock price may be greater after financial crisis, in particular the explanatory power of earnings for stock price dramatically increases after financial crisis. While, the gap between the explanatory power of semi-annual and annual financial statements information relatively decreases after financial crisis.
