시각적 방법을 활용한 자료 분석 사례연구

국문 초록

통계학 분야에서는 시각적 방법을 수치적 방법과 더불어 사용함으로 보다 정보를 효과적으로 전달하는 시도가 있어왔다. 본 연구에서 서울지역 아파트 매매지수에 대한 분석에 시각적 방법을 사용하여 보았다. 다양한 시각적 방법 중에서 사회네트워크분석, 계층적 군집분석, 다차원 척도법을 사용하여 보았다. 실제로 관계성에 기반을 둔 사회 네트워크 분석, 실제적 거리에 의한 계층적 군집분석, 상대적 위치에 따른 다차원 척도법 각각 방법론에 따라 매매지수에 대한 시각적 표현이 다소 차이가 있었다. 이러한 다양한 시각적 분석을 통해 서울 지역 아파트 매매지수의 변동에 대한 지역적 동향을 쉽게 파악할 수 있었다. 일반적인 수치적 정보와 달리 시각적 정보는 매매지수의 상승과 하락을 주도하는 지역에 대한 효과적인 파악이 용의하였다. 그 결과는 일반적으로 언론에서 언급되는 내용과 일치되는 부분이 있었고, 그 내용을 시각적으로 확실하게 보여주는 효과를 확인할 수 있었다.

영문 초록

In the field of statistics, there have been attempts to use visualization methods with numerical methods in order to pass the information effectively. In this study, we attempt to analyse trading indices of apartments in Seoul by using visualization methods. Among various visualization methods, we try to use ‘social network analysis’, ‘hierarchical cluster analysis’, and ‘multidimensional scaling method’. In fact, relationships-based social network analysis, hierarchical cluster analysis based on actual distance and multidimensional scale methodology according to the relative position based on the individual indices were slightly different for the visual representation. By these visualization method, we were able to understand regional trends in the indices. Unlike the typical numerical information, visual information led to effectively grasp the rise and fall of trade index in the region. The result is generally consistent with what is mentioned in the media, but we can once again clearly and visually convince it.
