영문 초록

The purpose of this paper is to analyse the magnitude and level of commission for different products and intermediaries in the domestic general insurance market and to provide useful implications for commissions systems. For the analysis of commissions’ level of products, channel distributions, and insurers, we analyze the data from 2009 to 2011 by using t-test and ANOVA. The several significant conclusions of this study are summarized as follows. The difference of average commission level between the large and small insurers is statistically significant level except an exclusive agent distribution channel. The level of large insurers’ commission for saving and pension based on solicitor channel is significantly higher than small insurers’ commissions. Also, particularly notable is the comparably high use of commission by using the general agent system and for protection products. It can be concluded that the shape of commission is heavily focused on the initial commission, that is the first commission was paid to more than seventy-five percent to the all channel distributions.
