불완전 삼원 분할표에서 범행동기 미상 추정을 위한 모형 선택에 대한 연구

국문 초록

한국의 급속한 고령화 현상으로 인한 인구구조 변화는 1인 가구, 독거노인과 같은 사회현상 뿐 아니라, 고령범죄 증가와 같은 부작용도 야기하였다. 다양한 범죄 증가는 경제적 빈곤문제 및 심리적 불안 등에서 원인을 찾을 수 있으며, 소년범죄나 고령범죄 등 서로 다른 연령층은 이질적 특수성을 갖는다. 따라서 본 연구는 경찰청 및 검찰청에서 제공하는 공공데이터인 범죄분석통계를 이용하여, 범죄의 범죄유형 및 범행동기를 연령을 고려하여 살펴보는 한편, 이를 이용하여 범행동기 중 미상(unknown)을 처리하는 대체방안을 연구하였다. 본 논문에서는 연령대, 범죄유형 및 범행동기로 분류된 불완전 분할표에서 무응답 체계가 내재된 다양한 무응답 추정 모형 가운데 적절한 모형 선택을 위한 방법론을 소개하고, 이를 이용하여 범행동기 미상을 추정하였다. 소개한 모형 선택 방법은 기존 방법들과는 달리 모형별 적합 없이 관측된 자료만을 이용할 수 있는 방법이다. 이 방법을 통해 미상으로 분류된 범행동기를 적절히 재분류함으로써 범죄의 특성과 원인을 보다 잘 이해하고 범죄 대응 정책을 위한 도움을 주고자 한다.

영문 초록

The population structure change in Korea due to the rapid population aging has caused social phenomena such as increased aged crime. The increase in various crimes can be attributed to economic poverty and psychological anxiety, and different age groups such as juvenile crime and aged crime. Therefore, this study investigates crime types and motives by taking into consideration age, using analytical statistics on crime, a public data provided by the National Police Agency and Supreme Prosecutors Office, and researches an imputation method to deal with unknown motive of crime. In this paper, we introduce a methodology to select appropriate nonresponse mechanism under the incomplete contingency table of crime type and motive by age group, and to estimate the unknown motive using proper nonresponse models. The introduced model selection, unlike to existing methods, has the merit that it only requires the observed data without model fitting. Through this method, we can better understand the nature and cause of crime and provide help for crime prevention policy by appropriately reclassifying unknown motives of crime.
