부적응적 자기초점주의와 사회불안의 관계: 정서조절곤란과 안전행동의 매개효과

국문 초록

사회불안의 발생과 유지 과정을 설명하는 최근의 모델은, 인지 요인의 역할과 더불어 이를 매개하는 정서·행동 요인의 중요성을 강조하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 사회불안을 유발하는 강력한 인지 요인으로 알려진 부적응적 자기초점주의와 사회불안 간의 관계에서 정서조절곤란과 안전행동의 매개효과를 살펴봄으로써 사회불안에 대한 통합적인 설명을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 만 17~40세의 일반인을 대상으로 부적응적 자기초점주의, 정서조절곤란, 안전행동, 사회불안수준을 측정하는 자기 보고형 검사를 실시하였으며, 최종적으로 수집된 454명의 결과를 사용하였다. 구조방정식 분석 결과, 부적응적 자기초점주의와 사회불안 사이에서 정서조절곤란과 안전행동이 유의한 단순매개효과를 나타냈으며, 정서조절곤란과 안전행동이 함께 작용한 이중매개효과 또한 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 이에 따라 부적응적 자기초점주의는 사회불안을 예측하는 주요한 변인이며, 정서조절곤란과 안전행동을 매개함으로써 사회불안을 더욱 효과적으로 설명하는 것으로 확인되었다. 마지막으로, 본 연구의 임상적 함의와 한계 및 후속 연구의 필요성을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to identify the relation among maladaptive self-focused attention, emotion dysregulation, safety behavior, social anxiety. The results of the study were as follows: First, there were positive correlations among maladaptive self-focused attention, emotion dysregulation, safety behavior, and social anxiety. Second, the examination of structural relation among the major variables showed that all the paths were significant. Especially, the path from maladaptive self-focused attention to emotion dysregulation was more powerful than other paths. Third, the result indicated that mediating effects of emotion dysregulation, safety behavior between maladaptive self-focused attention and social anxiety were significant, as well as the dual-mediated effect of emotion dysregulation and safety behavior between maladaptive self-focused attention and social anxiety was also significant. These results showed that maladaptive self-focused attention, emotion dysregulation and safety behavior should be included and examined in designed a intervention program for people who had social anxiety in early adulthood. Findings in this study also exhibited the direction for future research of relation between maladaptive self-focused attention and social anxiety.
