학습자 중심에서 본 이공계형 플립러닝 수업 곤란도 해결방안 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 플립러닝을 활용한 공학 콘텐츠 기반 전공 수업(이하 공학형 플립러닝수업)에서 학습자 곤란도를 분석, 해결하여 학습자에게 플립러닝에 대한 긍정적 인식을 갖게 하도록 고안된 연구이다. 학습자 곤란도 및 순위 분석을 통해 교수자 처치 이후 만족도를 고찰 하였고, 교수자 태도와 상호작용에 대한 제언을 제공하였다. 서울소재 한 남녀공학 종합대 공과대학 전공과목인 경제성 공학 교과를 수강하는 3개 분반 102명 연구참여자에게 실시한(2017년 9월-12월, 15주)수업을 통해 아래와 같은 결과를 도출하였다. 플립러닝 곤란도, 해결이후 만족도를 측정하는 사전․사후 설문을 Minitab을 사용하여 인식 변화 t-검정을 실시하였으며 (1) 과제 시기, (2) 과제 난이도와 분량, (3) 팀원 간의 의사소통 및 상호작용, (4) 팀원 간의 모임 시간조율, (5) 교수자와의 의사소통 및 상호작용, (6) 모임 장소 및 실습비용 영역 순으로 학습자 곤란도 순위를 발견하였고 또한 교수자 처치를 통해 해결하였다. 플립러닝 진행 당시 느꼈던 두려움과 곤란도 요인들이 해결 되어 교수자 처치의 효과도 입증하였다. 본 연구는 기존 플립러닝의 고유 형태인 온라인 강의-오프라인 상호작용이라는 전통적 플립러닝 외형적 특성 보다 교수자-학습자 혹은 학습자-학습자 상호작용에서 일어나는 곤란도 해결이 플립러닝 성공의 주요 열쇠라는 결과를 발견한 의의를 갖는 다. 또한 전공 교과 특성 및 학습자 곤란도 해결 요구를 반영하여 이공계열 플립러닝 확산을 제언하고 본 연구 한계점도 고찰할 것이다.

영문 초록

This study purports to report engineering and science major learners (1) perspectives about the flipped-learning(FL) difficulties, (2) the solutions for the learners, and (3) their preferences for this type of classes after the solutions were provided. A total of 102 participants who were enrolled at three separate FL classes in a university located in Seoul completed a pre and post test of their FL difficulty survey questionnaire (hereafter PPDQ). The results showed that the solutions for the six domains that the learners reported(e.g., (1) due-date of assignments, (2) the quantity and difficulties of tasks, (3) the interaction and communication among team members, (4) scheduling, (5) the interaction and communication with the teacher, and (6) the space and cost of meeting) played a positive role in changing the learners’ perspectives about FL difficulties. Even though this study revealed the limitations of research design constructed by a pre-post non-control group, it resulted that the success of FL depends on teachers’ attitude of providing solutions regarding the interaction and communication of class participants, while reflecting engineering and science field learners needs and characteristics of major classes. Further studies are recommended to research what factors would contribute to improving the satisfaction with FL in other engineering majors in order to expand this teaching method into various fields.
