국문 초록

본 연구는 중등학교 진로교육이 학생들의 수학 학습에 미치는 영향을 분석하여, 학생들의 교과 학습 발달 및 진로를 위해 학교가 어떠한 역할을 해야 할지 모색하고자 한다. 이를 위해 PISA 2012 설문 데이터를 토대로 우리나라 고등학교 1학년 학생 들의 진로교육에 대한 태도 및 수학 학습의 정의적 특성을 확인하고, 진로교육과 수학 학습의 정의적 특성과의 관련성, 진로교육이 수학 학습에 미치는 영향력을 분석해보았다. 분석 결과, 중등학교 진로교육은 ‘학교에서 성인 생활 준비’나 ‘직업을 위 한 유용한 것을 가르친다’는 인식이 높았다. 또한 ‘진로교육’과 ‘도구적 동기’ 영역 문항들이 대체적으로 상관관계가 있었다. 중등학교 진로교육이 수학 교과 학습에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과, ‘도구적 동기’ 영역에서 ‘직업을 구하는데 도움이 되는 학교 의 태도’, ‘자아개념’ 영역에서 ‘좋은 대학을 진학하는 데 도움이 되는 학교의 태도’, ‘즐거움’ 영역에서 ‘직업을 구하는데 도움이 되고 직업을 위해 유용한 것을 가르치는것’, ‘두려움’ 영역에서 ‘성인 생활을 위한 준비로서의 학교 태도’가 영향을 주는 변인으로 나왔다. 이러한 분석을 토대로 학교는 학생들의 학습 동기 강화를 위해 도구로써의 수학 활용 사례와 대학 전공 공부에 중등학교 수학 교과의 적용 방안을 안내하고, 교과 학습과 직업 세계의 연계성을 강조하는 학교 교육과정을 편성할 것을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

This study aims to identify the Korean secondary schools’ roles in students academic achievement and students career development through analyzing how career education in school influence students learning of mathematics. For this, we identify the Korean first-grade high school students attitudes toward career education and the affective features of learning mathematics in Korean high school based on the data of PISA 2012 questionnaire. And we study the relevance between the career education and the affective aspects of learning mathematics and the influence of the career education on students learning of mathematics. As a result, studies show that the schools generally perceive the career education as a path ‘to prepare for adult life’ or a way ‘to teach students things which could be useful in a job.’ The responses of ‘career education’ are generally related to the responses of ‘instrumental motivation.’ An analysis of the variables on how the career education affect students learning of mathematics shows that ‘schools’ supportive attitudes towards getting a good job,’ ‘schools’ supportive attitudes towards getting into a good college,’ ‘teaching students things which are helpful to get a job and could be useful in a job, and ‘schools’ attitudes on preparing for adult life’ turn out to be the influential variables. Based on these analyses, we propose that schools should offer students with cases to use math as an instrument to motivate students’ learning, and design school curriculum emphasizing the connection between school learning and job world.
