전문대학 교원 보수 결정요인 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 우리나라 전문대학 교원의 보수를 결정하는 요인을 분석하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 한국교육학술정보원 에듀데이터 서비스시스템에서 제공하는 고등교육통계자료의 2014년도 전문대학 및 전문대학 교원 데이터를 활용하였으며, 교원 개인 수준과 대학 수준으로 구분하는 위계적 선형모형(HLM)을 통해 전문대학교원의 보수 결정요인을 분석하였다. 분석결과, 전문대학 교원 보수의 전체 분산 가운데 대학 간 분산의 비율(ICC)은 20.260%로 나타나 전문대학 교원의 보수를 결정하는 데 교원 개인 수준의 특성이 대학 특성보다 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 전문대학 교원의 보수를 결정하는 데 교원 개인 수준의 모든 특성들(성별, 학위, 계열, 직급, 보직여부, 동일전공여부, 경력, 주당수업시수, 산업체근무경력, 본대학근무경력)이 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으나 주당수업시수, 산업체근무경력은 부적 영향을 보였다. 대학 수준의 모든 특성들(지역, 설립유형, 규모)도 전문대학 교원의 보수 결정에 유의한 영향을 미치고 있었으나 설립유형의 경우 국 공립대학이 사립대학보다 높은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 전문대학 교원의 보수에 영향을 미치는 요인이 무엇인지를 탐색하고 자 하였으며, 본 연구의 결과가 향후 전문대학 교원의 인사정책 및 집행에 유용한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the determinants of college professors’ wage in Korea. For this, it used the data of 2014 colleges and college professors of Higher Education Statistics from KERIS EDSS system, and analzed the wage determinants of college professors with HLM distinguished the level of individual professor and the level of college. As a result, the ICC value was 20.260% so that the characteristics of professors influenced much more than the characteristics of colleges for determining the wage. All the characteristics of professors(gender, degree, major, rank, position, the same with research specialization, career, number of classes per week, industry working experience, and affiliation university experience) had a significant influence to determine the wage, but the number of classes per week and the industry working experience had a negative effect. Also, all the characteristics of colleges(area, types of establishment, and size) meaningfully influenced, but the professors’ wage of the national and public colleges was higher than the professors’ wage of the private colleges. The results of this study are significant to use for personnel policy and enforcement of college’s professors.
