국문 초록

이 논문은 ‘혐오’가 일상화되어가는 한국 사회에서 ‘공존’ 사회로의 전환을 위해 대학의 사회적 책임을 강조하고, 교양교육에서 대안을 모색해보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 1970년대 이후 인식론적·실천적 차원에서 성별불평등 문제를 변화시키고자 했던 여성주의 페다고지로부터 교양교육의 시사점을 얻고자 하였다. 여성주의 페다고지는 불평등한 권력관계 속에서 사회구성원들이 어떻게 평등한 존재로 공존할 수 있는가를 질문하고 실천해왔다는 점에서 의미가 있으며, 여성주의 페다고지의 5가지 핵심요소(성찰성, 위치성, 개방성, 감수성, 실천성)를 중심으로 교양교육의 키워드(차이와 차별, 권력관계, 소통, 공감, 연대와 협력)와 대안적 페다고지를 제시하였다. 주요 내용으로 자기 성찰을 통해 차이·차별에 대한 민감성 갖기, 자신의 사회적 위치와 권력관계를 인식하고 특권으로부터 거리두기, 자신과 타인의 목소리에 귀 기울이고 의식화하기, 경험에서 배우고 공감능력 증진하기, 그리고 현장에서 배우고 연대와 협력의 방법 배우기를 논의하고, 구체적인 수업 사례를 포함하였다. 본 연구는 차별과 혐오가 만연한 사회에서 대학의 역할과 교양교육의 의미를 재사유 하였다는데 의미가 있으며, 향후 보다 많은 대학에서 혐오와 공존에 관한 연구와 논쟁이 이어지기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

This research starts from the cognition of problems, what is the role of the universities in the society that the expression of hatred is prevalent instead of the comprehension and the respect to the others. With the reflective thinking of the instrumentalization and the commercialization of the universities, pedagogy beyond the hatred society was considered through emphasizing the role of liberal art education focusing on Humanity . The feminist pedagogy, that tried to solve the gender inequalities as the longest discrimination since 1970s with the cognitive and educational aspect, can bring out the implications to the liberal art education as it has the experience of the education focusing on the social weak people inside and outside the lecture rooms. Especially as the educational practice to solve the discrimination against the woman and the problems of the hatred, the feminist pedagogy has 5 significant components - reflection, positionality, openness, sensitivity, and practicality. The alternative liberal art education was suggested aiming self-cognition beyond the hatred , the respect against the others and the society of community based on the above 5 significant components. This research is significant as the contemplation of the role of the university and the liberal art education from feminism at the time to concern how to solve the discrimination and the hatred problems in our society.
