중등 예비교사의 인성교육 방향과 과제

국문 초록

본 연구는 중등 예비교사들의 인성교육은 어떠한 방향으로 이루어져야 하는지에 대한 기초자료를 제공하고, 예비교사의 인성 덕목을 발달시키기 위한 교육적 시사점을 제공하는데 있다. 연구목적을 수행하기 위하여 충북에 위치한 대학에 재학 중인 사범대학교 학생을 대상으로 2016년 5월 8일부터 5월 19일까지 온라인 설문조사를 실시하여 최종 214명의 자료를 분석하였다. 분석결과, 첫째, 예비교사들의 인성교육을 위하여 교원양성기관에서는 교양교과목을 중심으로 1학년을 위한 다양한 인성관련 교과목 개설을 고려할 수 있으며, 2학점의 pass/fail로 평가하는 방안을 고려할 수 있다. 비교과 프로그램은 1학기 중에 운영하되, 상담 프로그램, 캠프, 특강 등의 형태로 운영하는 것이 효율적일 수 있다. 둘째, 예비교사에게 가장 우선적으로 필요한 인성 덕목은 자기조절과 성실로 나타났으며, 13개의 인성 덕목을 4개의 상황 차원으로 구분하였을 때, ‘자기이해 차원 → 자기 성장 차원 → 대인관계 차원 → 사회적 차원’으로 순차적인 발달을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 예비교사의 인성 발달을 이끌기 위해서는 단일 인성 덕목에 치중하지 않고, 본 연구에서 제시한 자기 이해 차원, 자기 성장차원, 대인관계적 차원, 사회적 차원으로 4개의 차원이 확대되어 발달할 수 있도록 다각적으로 검토하여 통합적인 관점에서 접근해야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

This study aims to provide the baseline data that guides the direction in which pre-service secondary teachers’ education on personality needs to be conducted. It also intends to put forth the educational viewpoints geared towards improving their personality virtues. To meet the research objectives, the data from 214 students currently enrolled in the education universities located in Chungbuk in South Korea was analyzed. The analysis results showed that first of all, teacher training institutes may consider opening various personality-specific subjects for first year students at university mainly as liberal arts subjects for the purpose of developing pre-service teachers’ good personality, and that they can consider a pass/fail evaluation measure on two credit point courses. It was also revealed that it would be more efficient for a non-subject program to be run in a form of counseling programs, camps, and special lectures during the first semester. Second, the results also showed that the personality virtues most needed by pre-service teachers are self-regulation and sincerity, and that when the categories of 13 personality virtues were divided into four situational dimensions, sequential orders were recognized, ie, self-understanding, self-growth, interpersonal and social phases. Therefore, in order to elicit the right personality development for the pre-service teachers, a holistic approach would be needed in consideration of comprehensive viewpoints not just on a single personality virtue but also on an enhanced form of the self-understanding, self-growth, interpersonal and social phases as this study touched upon.
