교육과정 및 교과서의 시각문화교육 내용 분석

국문 초록

시각문화교육을 반영한 미술과 교육과정과 교과서 내용은 다른 내용과는 차별화 된 적합한 교육 내용으로 구성되어야 한다. 이러한 관심에서 본 연구에서는 미술과 교육과정과 교과서의 시각문화교육의 도입 양상을 질적으로 분석한다. 분석의 대상은 2009 개정 교육과정과 이를 반영한 5, 6학년 미술과 교과서(검정 5종)이며, 새로운 교과서 개발을 앞 둔 현 시점을 고려하여 2015 개정 교육과정을 분석에 포함한다. 분석 기준은 시각문화교육의 개념과 담론에서 도출한 다섯 가지 내용 요소 즉, 시각 이미지의 직접적인 미적 체험, 이미지의 의미 전달 방식에 대한 이해와 제작, 대중문화와 이미지에 대한 비판적 해석, 영상 매체의 특성의 이해와 활용, 대중문화와 고급문화간의 교류라는 내용 요소로, 이 내용이 교육과정과 교과서에 어떻게 반영되었는지 그 질적 특성을 살펴본다. 국가 교육과정에 성취 기준과 구체적인 활동의 예가 제시되기 때문에 외적으로는 교과서별로 유사한 제재를 선정하여 공통된 내용을 다루고 있는 것처럼 보인다. 그러나 내적으로는 집필자의 시각문화교육에 대한 해석의 차이에 따라 차별화된 내용으로 구성되었다는 것을 확인하였다. 따라서 질적인 교과서 개발을 위해 집필자는 시각문화교육에 대한 깊이 있는 이해로 교육과정을 바르게 해석해야 하고 또한 시각문화교육의 내용 요소를 긴밀하게 연계 지으며 균형 있게 제시하는 방안을 더욱 연구하여야 한다.

영문 초록

This research analyzes the 2009 Amendment Curriculum and art textbook focusing on 5 content elements and discusses how they are reflected in the curriculum and the textbook: Direct aesthetical experience of visual images, understanding of the ways of representing the meaning of images and making them, critical analysis of popular culture and its images, understanding and using the features of visual media and doing interaction between popular and high level culture. The 5 content elements are elicited from the concept and discussion of Visual Culture Art Education. Due to the specific representations of 2009 Amendment Curriculum, art textbooks appear to pick up similar topics and handle their common contents outwardly. However, from the analysis based on the 5 content criteria, they reveal different contents and ways of approaching depending on the writer’s interpretation of the 2009 Amendment Curriculum. Based on these analyses this research suggests the direction of art textbook development according to standards of the 2015 Amendment Curriculum. The writers of the textbook need to interpret the art education curriculum based on an in-depth understanding of the Visual Culture Art Education. They also need to inquire into the ways to connect the content elements of the Visual Culture Art Education and provide them in a balanced way.
