국문 초록

소설과 비평이 한 자리에 실려 있는 문예잡지는 개별 저작들이 하나로 묶인 더 큰 규모의 텍스트로 수용됨으로써 좀 더 큰 규모의 문학 텍스트로 소비되기 마련이다. 문학잡지처럼 소설과 평문이 하나의 물리적 공간에 자리하게 되는 경우 텍스트들은 서로의 의미해석에 영향을 미치는 독서의 장 속에 놓인다. 이런 양상이 조선문학가동맹과 같은 좌익 계열의 조직적 문학운동단체의 기관지에서 펼쳐진다면, 그것은 단순히 두 가지 서로 다른 유형의 저작물을 함께 읽는 데서 비롯되는 의미의 상호작용의 범위를 넘어서는 복합적인 분석을 필요로 한다. 이 과정은 서로 다른 유형의 저작물들에 적용되는 해석 규범의 관습성과 새로운 저작물로서 요구하는 독법의 새로움이 복합적으로 적용되어야 마땅한 대상으로 다루어져야 마땅하다. 본고는 『文學』 창간호 소재 소설과 평문들에 대한 병렬적 독법을 통해, 기관지이면서 문예지라는 태생의 이중성이 빚어낸 내부의 긴장이 전일적이고 통합적이어야 할 '운동'과 개성적이고 내면적일 수밖에 없는 '문학' 사이에 균열을 만들어 낼 수밖에 없었던 까닭을 일부나마 확인할 수 있었다. 그것은 무엇보다도 '말해야만 하는 것'과 '말할 수밖에 없는 것'과 '말하고 싶은 것'과 '말해서는 안 되는 것'들 사이에 서 있던 작가들의 '자기의 선택'과 '타자의 시선'이 빚어내는 불일치에서 비롯된 불균형이었다. 그것은 네 편의 소설작품들이 관찰적 시선에 의해 서사를 추동시키면서도 각기 서로 다른 지향과 결과를 보여주는 데서, 그리고 병렬된 비평저작들이 기관지가 되기를 욕망하는 '조직의 목소리'와 문예지로서의 자유로움을 욕망하는 '개인의 목소리'가 미봉된 형태로 상이한 층위에서 서로를 비추고 있었음에서 확인할 수 있다.

영문 초록

In Korean Liberation Period, so called 'Hae-bang Kong-gan'(means the free field of discourse for the founding nation-state and establishing the national literature), Korean left-wing writers formed a literary organization 'Cho-sŏn mun-hak ga tong-maeng'(the Federation of Korean Writers). They published an organ journal, named Mun-hak(literature in english). There are antithetical properties, one is the aspect of the public organ journal of left-wing writers who have made a great efforts for founding 'min-jok mun-hak'(the literature of modern nation-state) and another is that of the literary magazine for many writers who have written ideological and non-ideological works for polite literature readers. This article analysed four novels and two critics in 1st issue of "Mun-hak". Yi Tae-jun's "Hae-bang chŏn-hu"(Before and after the Liberation), Chi Ha-ryŏn's "To-chŏng"(A Course) and Ahn Hwae-nam's "Pul"(A Fire) have showed intellectuals' self-reflection and regret for the acton against Korean people in Japan's colonial occupation of Korea and future-oriented viewpoint for 'min-jpk mun-hak'. The heroes of these two novels are the intellectuals who wanted to participate in the discussion for founding nation-state literature.On the other hand, Kim Hak-chŏl's "Tam-bae Kuk"(The Tabacco soup) have intellectual observer who showed the clueless foolish Korean man who accompanied the chinese socialist army. Although each work of them has independent meaning in social situation, if they are read as integrated work they reveal the organ's uncertainty for the literary movement in the nation-building period. There are not only intellectual subjects' vision of futurity of new country but also their embarrassment of sudden change of political and social situation in "Hae-bang chŏn-hu" and "To-chŏng". "Pul" and "Tam-bae Kuk" showed the intellectual subject's uncertainty between the appropriateness of the friendship for the piblic and the disillusionment with their attitude of petit bourgeois. By complementary reading the critics in 1st issue of the Mun-hak, these novels' intellectual subject's uncertainty should be showed themselves.
