김종삼 시에 나타난 '죽음'의 은유적 미감 연구

국문 초록

이 글의 목적은 전후 시인 김종삼의 시세계를 관통하는 죽음에의 인식이 은유의 원리에 의해 어떻게 미적 형상화를 이루는지 연구하는 것이다. 이는 '죽음'의 의미 규명만이 아니라 이것이 어떠한 은유 양상을 통해 구현되는지에 초점을 둔 것이다. 김종삼 시의 죽음에 관해서는 거론하지 않은 논자들이 거의 없을 정도로 많이 논의되었다. 그러나 지금까지는 주로 인식적인 차원에서 논의되었으며 은유라는 형식 미학의 차원과 연결하는 데에는 소홀하였다. '죽음'의 은유 미학에 관한 고찰은 유미주의 시인 김종삼의 시정신의 본질을 규명할 수 있다는 점에서 매우 중요하다. 본고에서는 시적 은유를 총체적으로 파악하기 위해 언술의 차원에서 은유를 이해한 흐루쇼브스키의 지시틀 이론을 차용하였다. 김종삼 시의 죽음이 은유에 의해 미감을 형성하는 양상은 크게 세 갈래로 정리할 수 있다. 유한성을 지닌 신체는 자연화되면서 생명력 상실을 의미화하고 있으며, 근경화되어 나타나는 죽음은 모성으로 전이되면서 의미를 창출하고 있다. 그리고 존재의 몸바꿈과 함께 미학적 죽음으로의 이행도 구현되고 있다. 김종삼 시의 은유는 이질성의 충돌로 인해 시적 의미를 증폭시키며 긴장을 극대화하면서 미적 토대를 마련하고 있다. 본 연구는 김종삼 시의 기존의 연구 성과를 넘어 죽음에 형성된 은유적 미감을 총체적으로 고찰하였다는 데 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine how the recognition to death passing through Kim Jong-Sam's poetic view forms aesthetic configuration by the principle of metaphor. This study is focusing on not only revealing the meaning of 'death' but also examining how 'death' is embodied through what metaphoric aspects. It may not be exaggeration to say that most of researchers discussed about 'death' in Kim Jong-Sam's poems. However, most studies mainly discussed in terms of recognition rather than metaphor which is the part of formal aesthetics. The examination of metaphoric aesthetics about 'death' is very significant to reveal the origins of Kim Jong-Sam's poetic mind as a minstrel. In this study, to understand poetic metaphor comprehensively, Hrushovski's theory, the frame of reference, is empolyed. There are three different aspects to show how 'death' in Kim Jong-Sam's poems forms aesthetic senses by metaphors. By naturalizing, the mortal bodies represent the loss of vitality and 'death' generates meanings by changing to maternity. In addition, the fulfillment to aesthetic death is embodied with transformation of existence. The metaphors in Kim Jong-Sam's poems not only amplify poetic meanings due to disparateness collision but also form aesthetic basis by maximizing tensions. This study has a meaning in that it comprehensively examines metaphoric aesthetics, formed in consciousness of death, above previous researches about Kim Jong-Sam's poems.
