『老子』고증 논쟁의 함의

국문 초록

본고의 주요목적은 胡適과 馮友蘭의 논쟁에 대한 분석을 중심으로 해서 『노자』고증 논쟁이 지니는 다양한 함의들을 탐구하는데 있다. 논자는 본고를 통해서 『노자』고증 논쟁이 단순히 『노자』의 작자와 성립연대에 대한 논쟁에 그치는 것이 아니라, 문헌연구의 관점, 중국철학사의 비조와 그의 철학적 특징, 중국철학의 우량 전통(정신), 그리고 미래의 중국철학의 방향의 문제에 대한 견해의 차이와 깊이 결부되어 있음을 밝힌다. 한마디로 말하자면, 호적과 풍우란 간의 논쟁의 경우, 『노자』고증 논쟁은 표면적으로 보이는 것처럼 가치관이 개입되지 않은 역사적 사실에 관한 논쟁이 아니라 가치관이 깊이 결부된 논쟁이라는 것이다.

영문 초록

This paper examines the implications of the controversy of the Laozi textual criticism focusing on an analysis of the dispute between Hu Shi(胡適) and Feng Youlan(馮友蘭). This paper proposes that the controversy of the Laozi textual criticism between Hu Shi and Feng Youlan is not simply a dispute about the author and period of the Laozi, but is deeply connected to the disagreements of issues, such as viewpoints of study of literature, the pioneer of Chinese philosophy, philosophical characteristics of the pioneer of Chinese philosophy, good spirit of Chinese philosophy and the orientation of future Chinese philosophy. To put it shortly, in case of the controversy between Hu Shi and Feng Youlan, the controversy of the Laozi textual criticism is not a dispute about historical facts that are not involved with perspectives of values, but the dispute deeply involved with them.
