국문 초록

본 연구는 포토보이스를 활용하여 학생들이 주변 공공공간의 문제점을 발견하고 뮤지엄 경험을 연계한 공공디자인 교육을 통해 협력적 해결방안을 제안하는 교육프로그램을 구안하는 것이다. 이를 위해 초등학교 6학년 학생 27명을 대상으로 뮤지엄 교육과 관련된 개념을 효과적으로 체험할 수 있는 두 곳의 전시관을 관람하고 포토보이스의 연구 절차와 공공디자인을 연계한 프로그램으로 활동하였다. 포토보이스를 공공디자인과 관련지어 학생들이 주변 공공공간에 대한 인식과 경험을 사진으로 담을 수 있도록 하였으며 그 과정에서 공공공간의 문제점을 발견하도록 하였다. 논의를 바탕으로 구성원들이 새로운 공공디자인을 제시하고 공공디자인 국민 아이디어 공모전에 출품하여 사회적 관심을 향상하고자 하였다. 또한 하인의 뮤지엄 교육의 순환 과정에 따라 전시관과 연계하여 공공디자인을 탐구하고 아이디어를 활성화해 주변 공공공간의 문제해결에 활용할 수 있도록 하였다. 연구 결과는 포괄적 분석 절차에 따라 수집한 질적 자료를 분석하였다. 연구 결과 학생들이 주변 공공공간의 문제 인식 능력을 기르고 다양한 공공디자인 아이디어를 활성화하였으며 협력적 해결방안 제시 능력이 향상되었다는 유의미한 결론을 도출하였다. 따라서 뮤지엄 교육과 연계해 학생들의 부족한 경험을 채워주고 학습할 수 있는 환경을 제공해준다면 학생들이 사회 문제에 관심을 갖고 삶의 주인으로서 주체적인 시민으로 성장하는 밑거름이 되어줄 것이다.

영문 초록

The aim of this study is to develop an educational program that utilizes Photovoice to help students identify issues in their surrounding public spaces and propose collaborative solutions through integrated public design education linked with museums. To achieve this, the program was implemented with 27 6th-grade elementary school students who visited exhibition space where they can effectively experience concepts related to museum education and engaged in activities that combined the research process of Photovoice with public design. By connecting Photovoice with public design, students were encouraged to capture their perceptions and experiences of the surrounding public spaces through photographs and identify the problems within them. Through discussions, participants presented new public design ideas and submitted them to the National Public Design Idea Contest, aiming to increase social awareness. Furthermore, following the museum education cycle by integrating museums with public design, students were able to explore public design, activate ideas, and utilize them to solve problems in the surrounding public spaces. The research findings were analyzed based on a comprehensive analytical process of the collected qualitative data. The results revealed that the students improved their ability to perceive issues in the surrounding public spaces and enhanced their capacity to propose various public design ideas and collaborative problem-solving solutions. Therefore, if museums are linked to fill the experiential gaps and provide an environment for students to learn, it can serve as a foundation for students to develop an interest in social issues and grow as active citizens who take ownership of their lives
