국문 초록

2022 개정 미술과 교육과정의 핵심 역량으로 ‘정체성 역량’이 신설되었다. 그러나 미술교육에서 정체성의 개념과 관점, 정체성 교육의 내용과 범주에 대한 연구와논의가 충분히 이루어지지 못한 채 교육과정 개정 작업이 실행되었다. 이에 본 논문에서는 ‘정체성이란 무엇인가?’, ‘정체성을 미술교육에서 어떤 관점에서 어떤 방향으로 추구해나갈 것인가?’라는 질문을 떠올리고 답을 찾기 위해 듀이의 경험철학 사상을 고찰하였다. 2022 개정 미술과 교육과정에서 그리고 있는 ‘정체성 역량’의 모습을 살펴보고자 ‘정체성’과 관련된 내용을 검토하였다. 또한 ‘미술과 교육과정에서 정체성 교육이 부재하였는가? 아니면 담겨 있었는가?’라는 질문을 떠올리며 이전 미술과에서 정체성 교육을 살펴보기 위해 2015 개정 미술과 교육과정에 따른 3～4학년검정 미술 교과서 6종과 5～6학년 검정 미술 교과서 7종을 분석하여 ‘정체성’의 개념과 범주와 밀접하게 관련된 내용을 추출하고 학습 내용의 선정과 조직, 학습 수준을 분석하였다. ‘정체성’에 관한 문헌 고찰 및 미술과 교육과정과 교과서 분석 결과에 기초하여 ‘정체성 역량’을 현장에서 구현하기 위한 미술과 교과서 구성 방안을제안하였다. 본 연구가 미술교육의 연구 분야뿐만 아니라 현장 교사의 ‘정체성 역량’ 에 대한 공감과 인식을 높이고 미술과에서 ‘정체성’을 함양하는 수업으로 이끌어 가는 데 도움이 될 수 있기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

‘Identity Competency’ was newly established as a core competency in the 2022 revised art curriculum. However, the curriculum revision work had been carried out without sufficient research and discussion on the concept and perspective of identity and the contents and categories of identity education in art education. Accordingly, in this paper, we considered the questions ‘What is identity?’ and ‘From what perspective and in what direction will identity be pursued in art education?’ and examined Dewey’s empirical philosophy to find the answers. We reviewed the contents related to ‘identity’ in order to examine how the ‘Identity Competency’ was depicted in the 2022 revised art curriculum. Also, ‘had identity education been absent in the art curriculum? Or had it been included?’, in order to examine identity education in previous art subjects, we analyzed 6 types of art textbooks approved for grades 3 and 4, and 7 types of art textbooks approved for grades 5 and 6 according to the 2015 revised art curriculum. Content closely related to the concepts and categories of ‘identity’ was extracted, and the selection and organization of learning contents and learning level were analyzed. Based on the results of literature review on ‘identity’ and analysis of art curriculum and textbooks, we proposed a plan for organizing art textbooks to implement ‘Identity Competency’ in the school art education. We hope that this study will be helpful not only in the research field of art education, but also in increasing empathy and awareness of the ‘Identity Competency’ of teachers in the field and leading to classes that foster students’ identity through art education.
