국문 초록

연구목적: 본 연구는 중학생을 대상으로 가정의 심리적 환경, 배려, 자아존중감 및 학교적응 간의 구조적 관계를 탐색하고자 하였다. 연구방법: 이를 위해 부산교육종단연구(BELS: Busan Education Longitudinal Study) 데이터를 활용하여 부산광역시에 소재한 중학교에 재학 중인 중학교 3학년 총 2,942명을 최종분석 대상으로 하였다. 본 연구에서는 각 변인들 간의 상호관련성을 살펴보기 위해 Pearson의 적률상관계수를 구하였으며, AMOS 26.0을 활용하여 가정의 심리적 환경, 배려, 자아존중감 및 학교적응 간의 구조적 관계를 분석하였다. 연구결과: 첫째, 가정의 심리적 환경, 배려, 자아존중감 및 학교적응 간의 관계는 상호 유의한 관련성이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 가정의 심리적 환경, 배려 및 자아존중감은 학교적응에 직·간접적으로 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로, 가정의 심리적 환경과 학교적응 간의 관계에서 배려와 자아존중감이 매개효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 논의 및 결론: 본 연구결과를 토대로 볼 때, 가정의 심리적 환경은 중학생의 학교적응에 중요한 역할을 할 뿐만 아니라 배려와 자아존중감을 함양시키는 요소인 것으로 판단된다. 특히, 코로나19 시기의 중학생들을 대상으로 한 본 연구에서는 가정의 심리적 환경이 학교적응에 가장 큰 영향력을 미치는 것으로 나타나, 상대적으로 가정에 머무는 시간이 늘어난 청소년들에게 안정적인 가정의 심리적 환경을 제공하는 것이 중요함을 시사한다. 이와 같은 본 연구결과는 중학생의 학교적응 수준을 향상시키기 위한 방안을 모색하는 데 도움을 줄 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

영문 초록

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explore the structural relationship between family process, care, self-esteem, and school adjustment among middle school students. Method: This study was conducted by using data from the Busan Education Longitudinal Study (BELS) and analyzing 2,942 3rd grade middle school students in their third year of middle school in Busan Metropolitan City. Pearson's correlation coefficients were used to examine the inter-correlations between variables and structural relationships between family process, care, self-esteem, and school adjustment were analyzed using AMOS 26.0. Results: The results showed that there were significant inter-correlations between the family process, care, self-esteem, and school adjustment. Family process, care, and self-esteem had a positive direct and indirect impact on school adjustment. Finally, care and self-esteem were found to have mediating effects on the relationship between family process and school adjustment. Conclusion: Based on these results, it can be concluded that family process plays an important role in the school adjustment of middle school students. In particular, this study aimed at middle school students during the COVID-19 pandemic, and found that the family process had the greatest influence on school adjustment. It suggests that providing a stable psychological home environment is important for adolescents who spend relatively more time at home. This research would provide practical implications on the significance of family processes, care, and self-esteem for improving school adjustment.
