국문 초록

본 연구는 초등학생의 통계 학습 과정에서 개인과 집단의 비형식적 통계적 추리 능력의 성장을 포괄적으로 이해하는 것을 목표로 한다. 이를 위해 비형식적 통계적 추리에 참여하는 초등학교 5, 6학년 학생들의 토론에 대한 자료를 수집하고, 개인의 비형식적 통계적 추리 능력을 조사할 수 있는 추론주의 접근과 집단의 비형식적 통계적 추리 능력을 조사할 수 있는 DCA 접근을 네트워킹하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 모자그림을 이용하여 비형식적 통계적 추리에 참여하는 초등학생들이 대푯값, 전체적 관점, 밀도, 퍼짐개념에 대한 찬동을 제시한다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 비형식적 통계적 추리와 관련된 집단의 규범적 사고방식을 확인하였으며, 이러한 개인과 집단의 비형식적 통계적 추리 능력의 성장이 상호 영향을 미친다는 사실을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 초등학생의 비형식적 통계적 추리 교수-학습에 대한 시사점을 도출하였다.

영문 초록

This study investigates the growth of informal statistical inferential abilities of individuals and groups during the statistical learning process in primary school students. To achieve this, we collected data from discussions of fifth- and sixth-grade students engaged in informal statistical inference. Moreover, we networked the inferentialist approach to assess individuals‘ informal statistical inferential abilities with the DCA approach to evaluate informal statistical inferential ability within the classroom community. The analysis revealed that primary school students articulated commitments about representative value, global perspective, density, and spread while engaging in informal statistical inference using hat plots. It also revealed normative ways of reasoning within the classroom community related to informal statistical inference and that individual and group growth influence each other. Based on these findings, we discuss the implications for the teaching and learning informal statistical inference among primary school students.
